  • Patent number: 5101516
Abstract: The ventilating system is proposed for use with a head cover including a visor like structure engaged to the forehead of a wearer by a sweat band and includes spaced apart resilient, porous, absorbent members removably engaged to an area of the sweat band which would normally engage the forehead of the wearer to space that area of the sweat band away from the forehead. The spaces between the resilient, porous, absorbent members create paths therebetween through which air can pass across the forehead of the wearer. Still further, evaporation of any perspiration collected in the absorbent members will provide a cooling effect to the forehead of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 4433531
Abstract: A corn snapping header for a forage harvester is provided with corn snapping units of the snapping plate type which are disposed with their crop passages converging to a single rear outlet. A single transverse drive line with flexible drive means is provided to drive the snapping units.

  • Patent number: 4425058
Abstract: A centrifugal blower has an offset between a housing rim sheet and discharge conduit outer wall. A vertical panel attached to the rim sheet guides the feed material into the silo pipe center portion without contacting the conduit outer wall and discharge duct. An air inlet for secondary air flow is provided in this offset to supplement the principal air flow entering through material feed inlet into the blower and to provide an air cushion between the air-borne material and outer wall, as well as the initial portion of the discharge duct.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 1981
Date of Patent: January 10, 1984
    Assignee: International Harvester Co.
Inventors: Robert Sorensen, Edward A. Barrett, Thomas J. Scarnato
  • Patent number: 4412761
Abstract: In a centrifugal blower used for conveyance of certain materials, a self-regulating air inlet assembly which automatically adjusts the amount of secondary air flow according to the needs of the blower, thereby supplementing the principal air flow and stabilizing the air flow in the discharge duct.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 1, 1983
    Assignee: International Harvester Co.
Inventors: Robert Sorensen, Edward A. Barrett, Thomas J. Scarnato
  • Patent number: 4317580
Abstract: An improved hitch adapter for connecting an implement to a tractor drawbar including an adapter bar having a hitch member extending rearwardly of the drawbar, a spring locking bar disposed on the adapter bar, and a lower support member having a bolt attached thereto and extending upwardly through the drawbar, adapter bar, and locking bar, a second bolt socketted in the lower support member and extending through the drawbar, adapter bar, and locking bar. When the nut on the first bolt is made finger tight, the nut on the second bolt may be torqued using a single wrench simultaneously tensioning the first bolt to lock the adapter bar on the drawbar.

  • Patent number: 3939888
Abstract: A resuable container made of elastic material which is formed with sections of different geometry wherein when the container is opened it will self-expand to a fully extended position. However, when pressure is applied to the top of said container it will progressively collapse from the top to the bottom thereof thereby allowing reduction of volumetric dimension substantially equal to the substance contained therein for easy access to that substance. An air tight closure is tightened about the access opening while the container is held in collapsed condition whereby a partial vacuum is then created therein.

  • Patent number: 3939887
Abstract: A self-expandable, foldable and reusable container made of elastic material which is adapted to be collapsed progressively from top to bottom to a volumetric dimension substantially equal to the substance contained therein to minimize air space in the container. An air tight closure is tightened about an access opening in said container while the same is held in collapsed condition. The folds of said container are formed with sections of different geometry to effect progressive flexibility from the top to the bottom thereof.

  • Patent number: T988005
Abstract: An automatic feed control system for a forage blower of the type adapted to be fed by a forage unloading wagon including a pressure switch connected to the blower discharge pipe, a device for controlling the discharge rate of the wagon to the blower, and electrical circuitry connecting the switch and control device so that when pressure in the discharge pipe exceeds a given level, the pressure switch actuates the control device to reduce the feed rate of the crops to the blower from the wagon.
