  • Patent number: 11931303
Abstract: A foldable tiltable wheelchair that overcomes the foregoing deficiencies comprises a base frame comprising laterally spaced side frames. A tiltable seat frame is supported for pivotal movement in relation to the base frame. The tiltable seat frame comprises laterally spaced seat rails. A first foldable cross-member provides a rigid connection between the seat rails when in an unfolded position. According to one embodiment, a second foldable cross-member provides a rigid connection between the side frames when in an unfolded position. The first and second foldable cross-members coupled so that moving one cross-member moves the other cross-member. According to another embodiment, the tiltable seat frame comprises a seat back supported in relation to the seat frame. The seat back comprises laterally spaced back canes. The first foldable cross-member is coupled to the seat frame so that the back canes are supported in relation to the first foldable cross-member so as to limit lateral flexure of the back canes.

  • Publication number: 20230330827
Abstract: A hand tool, such as a multi-tool including pivotable handles is shown. The multi-tool includes a first and second handle, a first and second jaw portion, coupled to the first and second handle, and a plurality of tool components. The multi-tool further includes a locking mechanism that includes an engagement member, a pin, and a biasing element. When the first or second handle is in a locked position, the biasing element applies a force pushing the pin into engagement with the engagement member to secure the first or second handle. When the first or second handle is in an unlocked position, the pin is movable along the engagement member such that the first or second handle is pivotable. In a specific embodiment, the multi-tool including a pre-deployment mechanism configured to deploy the tool component at various angles thereby improving access and opening of the tool components.

  • Publication number: 20230158660
Abstract: A storage rack for storing tools, such as pliers with open-biased handles, is provided. The pliers storage rack includes a support base and a plurality of pliers support structures coupled to the support base. Each of the plurality of pliers support structures define an open support region. A pair of pliers is supported by each of the plurality of pliers support structures. Each pair of pliers includes a pair of handles that are biased toward an open position and a pair of jaws opposite the pair of handles. The pair of handles engaged within the open support region in a position in which the pair of jaws of the pair of pliers extend out of a first end of the open support region and the pair of handles of the pair of pliers extend out of a second end of the open support region.

  • Patent number: 10400134
Abstract: An environmental barrier composition and method for forming a structural barrier system to seal structural openings such as doors and windows is provided. The composition includes a liquid rosin that is silyl-terminated polyether, a filler material, and a curing catalyst. The method includes applying the composition to a prepared through-hole in combination with flashing material at least along a bottom surface of the through-hole and installation of a window or door into the prepared through-hole to form a barrier system in which a continuous film can be easily inspected, is waterproof, meet air barrier requirements of ASTM E2178, has elastomeric properties, allows substrate expansion, contraction, and movement, does not shrink or lose volume as it cures, and cures rapidly with sufficient adhesion to transition flashing to incorporate into a designed drainage plane and allow integration of a continuous air barrier system where the barrier is at least semi-vapor-permeable.

  • Publication number: 20190000989
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a platform for new bispecific targeting agents using liposomes or nanoparticles as linkers. The bispecific targeting agent can bind two different cell types, each via a separate targeting moiety. Said targeting agents can be used to induce specific biological effects in the cells such as cell proliferation or cell activation which can be used in some instances to destroy the other bound cells. Any cell that can be targeted can be subject to targeting. For example, the cell types that may be recruited by the bispecific targeting agent may be both human or one of the cells may be human and the other an infected cell or it can be an infectious agent. The platform is based on an empty nanoparticle or liposome conjugated to two or more targeting moieties, bound to the nanoparticle/liposome at defined ratios that may be other than 1:1. Such, compositions provide for specific binding to each cell type.

  • Publication number: 20170205328
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for measuring the permeability of a material. A test chamber includes first and second sides, separated by a material undergoing testing. A blower applies pressurized air to the first side of the chamber, air permeating through the material enters the second side of the chamber where the volume of the permeated air is measured by an air volume measuring device. The measuring device includes first and second float boxes, each suspended in a water tank so that a captured volume of air raises the float box within the water tank. With the volume of air permeated and the elapsed time, the permeability of the material can be calculated. In alternative embodiments additional environmental conditions are introduced, including heat, cooling, and water spray. Field test configurations of the test system are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7564569
Abstract: A solution for optically evaluating a wheel along at least one circumference of the wheel is provided. Image data is obtained while the wheel moves along a path having a length of at least one circumference of the wheel. The path and/or wheel can be illuminated to enhance the resulting image data. One or more attributes of the wheel are measured based on the image data. The attributes can then be used to detect one or more defects in the wheel. In one embodiment, the wheel is a rail wheel, and a rail segment is illuminated. The rail can be specially configured to enhance a contrast between the rail and the rail wheel and/or to provide a consistent path for the rail wheel to travel.
