Publication number: 20110302221Abstract: The present invention discusses a dashboard application that compiles values across a set of records, each of the records having fields which include data pertaining to user-defined criteria. The user enters a query into the system and the set of records is returns and analyzed according the criteria. The results are numerical and are displayed in components of the dashboard. The component is a graph, bar graph, pie chart, etc. that appears in a user interface of the dashboard. A user can customize the application and define its component. Multiple users can view and subscribe to the dashboard and can select specific components to follow. Some components can have user-defined threshold values and can provide graphics displaying breakpoints of those values. When the system refreshes, or the user manually refreshes the dashboard, an alert is generated if the threshold value is traversed. The alert, including the component graphic, is posted in the subscriber's feed and a feed of the dashboard.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2011Publication date: December 8, 2011Applicant: salesforce.com, Inc.Inventors: Thomas J. Publication number: 20110264650Abstract: Interactive database viewing is provided. A server associated with a database accesses a stored result set from a database query. The server presents a portion of the result set in a list view to a client device remote from the server and the cache memory, where the portion presented is based on filter selection based on fields of the data. In response to changes to the filter selection, the server can dynamically alter the list view without having to again access the database. If a change to the filter selection requests data outside the cached result set, the server accesses the database and updates the cached result set, inline editing of the data in the list view can be applied back to the database by the server.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2011Publication date: October 27, 2011Applicant: SALESFORCE.COM, INCInventors: Thomas J. Publication number: 20090290275Abstract: A fault protection system for an electrical power distribution system and a method of configuring and operating a fault protection system for an electrical power distribution system accepts device fault protection parameters, such as the time-current-characteristics (TCCs), of boundary devices, and selects and sets fault protection parameters for one or more fault protection devices, such as fault-interrupters, that thus coordinate with the boundary devices. Fault protection parameter selection for each fault protection device may occur automatically, and each device may reconfigure its fault protection parameters based upon changes in the electrical power distribution system, for example, as the result of fault isolation and/or service restoration.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2006Publication date: November 26, 2009Applicant: S & C Electric Co.Inventors: Douglas M. Patent number: 6137191Abstract: A control arrangement and method is provided for source-transfer switching systems including a high-speed control arrangement and high-speed switches to control the transfer of a load from one source to another with minimal transfer delays. The system supplies an electrical load with alternating current from either a first source or a second source via respective first and second switches. The system also includes a controller that samples the voltage waveforms of each of the first and second sources to detect when transfer between the sources is desirable, e.g. power outages, voltage levels that are either too low or too high, or reverse currents that indicate an upstream fault. The controller provides appropriate control signals to control operation of the switches and transfer supply of the load therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1998Date of Patent: October 24, 2000Assignee: S&C Electric Co.Inventors: Raymond P. Patent number: 5303112Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided responsive to the circuit parameters at one or more locations of an electrical power transmission and/or distribution network for detecting protective device operation. The detection of the protective device operation is utilized to locate faults and also to ascertain the status of protective devices. This information is useful in automated power systems for desirable isolation and sectionalizing of faults for optimum restoration of the network. A fault detection unit of the present invention is responsive to sensed circuit parameters and provides at least first and second outputs indicative of protective device operations that open the circuit. The first output is provided upon the occurrence of an overcurrent followed by the loss of a circuit parameter, such as voltage, for a specified time duration. In a preferred arrangement, the timing for a specified time duration is started when the overcurrent ends.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1990Date of Patent: April 12, 1994Assignee: S & C Electric CompanyInventors: John A. Patent number: 5252780Abstract: A durable polymeric bearing is provided for a rotatable support insulator. The bearing is of sufficient conductivity to permit the flow of leakage current and capacitive charging current through the bearing. Thus, tracking across and/or deterioration of the bearing is avoided since insufficient voltage is developed across the bearing to cause any deleterious effects.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1990Date of Patent: October 12, 1993Assignee: S&C Electric CompanyInventors: Joel A. Ramos, Leonard V. Chabala, Peter J. Meyer, Thomas J. Tobin

Patent number: 4690780Abstract: An improved insulating material is provided. The insulating material is a mixture of an insulating fluid and solid insulative bodies. The insulating material exhibits desirable insulating, conformal coating, surface adhesion, and low-viscosity characteristics. For example, when the insulating material is used to fill the cavity of a hollow insulator, the insulating material prevents any moisture that enters the insulator from adhering to the walls that define the cavity; thus maintaining the insulating qualities of the insulator. In the event that some of the fluid is lost through leakage, the insulating material also aids in preserving the insulating qualities of the insulator.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1986Date of Patent: September 1, 1987Assignee: S&C Electric CompanyInventors: Leonard V. Chabala, John Haarsma, Raymond P. O'Leary, Christopher D. Roman, Thomas J. Tobin

Patent number: 4677262Abstract: An operator is provided that includes a common drive for charging an operating mechanism and for driving a functional accessory device in predetermined coordinated relationship. The common drive in a specific embodiment is provided as a drive shaft at the output of a drive train. The operating mechanism is charged as the drive shaft is rotated from a first to a second predetermined position. The functional accessory device is also driven via the drive shaft; the functional accessory device being operated from a first predetermined operational state to a second predetermined operational state in response to the rotation of the drive shaft between the predetermined positions. When desired, the functional accessory device is operated from the second predetermined operational state to the first predetermined operational state by subsequent rotation of the drive shaft to the first predetermined position. The operating mechanism is controlled thereafter to close the contacts of one or more interrupting units.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 1985Date of Patent: June 30, 1987Assignee: S&C Electric CompanyInventors: Joel A.
