  • Patent number: 4815540
Abstract: A perforating gun is latchably secured to the bottom end of a tubular support which in turn is connected to the bottom of a well tubing string. After the gun has been discharged, it may be released from the tubing string by dropping a ball on an upwardly facing seating surface provided on the top portions of the perforating gun assemblage and then increasing the tubing string pressure to a predetermined level which effects the release of the latching mechanism and drops the perforating gun assembly to the bottom of the well.
