  • Publication number: 20180301210
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for expedited admission and medication delivery provides for electronic transfer of continuity of care data, such as at least portions of continuity of care document including medication orders, when a patient is discharged from a first health care facility, such as an acute care facility. The continuity of care data is electronically transferred to a second health care facility, such as a non-acute care facility, to expedite admissions and medication delivery at the second health care facility.

  • Publication number: 20030092438
Abstract: A method of ensuring stability of wireless communications that are in danger of suffering a service disconnect due to a processor software upgrade or downgrade. The method includes the use of a control block which contains the version number of the application operating on both the primary and secondary processors. The primary controller writes state data to its control block and a checkpointing service replicates the data to the control block of the updated secondary processor. The control block coordinates appropriate version format conversions and allows the secondary processor to read the saved state data and assume control of the wireless communications with little or no loss of service.

  • Patent number: 4469478
Abstract: A foot-operated mechanism (24) for actuating the rear derailleur (20) of a bicycle. The mechanism senses tension in the drive chain (22) and effects movement of the derailleur actuating cable (74) when driving tension is reduced from the drive chain (22). The actual shift of the derailleur occurs only upon reestablishment of tension in the drive chain (22) by applying a driving force to the pedals. The derailleur cable is connected, through a transfer mechanism (30), to a slotted driven wheel (42) which is normally biased into engagement with drive pins (64a) located on a drive wheel (26) which is attached to the crank mechanism (18) of the bicycle, and is moved out of engagement by a chain-engaging idler sprocket (50) attached to a pivot block (38) on which the driven wheel (42) is mounted.
