  • Patent number: 6926729
Abstract: A low profile inflation valve located inside a balloon catheter that enables a user to inflate the balloon and exchange other medical apparatus over the catheter while the balloon remains inflated. The low profile inflation valve of the present invention includes a first tube having a lumen and at least one region of decreased inner diameter, and a structure movably located inside the lumen of said first tube, wherein said region of decreased inner diameter of said first tube forms a seal with a portion of said structure.

  • Patent number: 6090083
Abstract: A low profile inflation valve includes a first tube having a lumen and at least one region of decreased inner diameter, and a structure, which may be a tube, movably located inside the lumen. The region of decreased inner diameter of the first tube forms a seal with a portion of the structure. A method of making a low profile inflation valve using a first tube and second tube comprises the steps of creating an aperture in at least one side of the second tube; placing the second tube inside the first tube, the first tube being made of thermoplastic material; applying heat to a localized area of the first tube; and compressing the first tube to form a region of reduced internal diameter, the reduced diameter forming a seal with the outside diameter of the second tube.

  • Patent number: 4351221
Abstract: A player piano recording system has photosensor flags secured to the undersides of the piano keys, vertical movement of which is detected by horizontally adjustable photosensors to produce "key played" and key velocity signals which supplied to a microprocessor for deriving expression signals for recording on magnetic tape. The microprocessor provides output expression values and key play information. According to the invention, the expression values are a direct function of key velocity and key play information and switch selected boost (an enhanced initial frame expression for overcoming solenoid inertia) and add (for trill) values. Key play data is dependent upon key play inputs and the frame extension switch value. The unique structure of the key flag permits horizontal adjustment of the photosensors for vertical misalignments etc. of the piano keys.

  • Patent number: 4216694
Abstract: There is disclosed a solenoid-dashpot assembly for actuating the foot pedals of a player piano. A solenoid having an armature shaft extending beyond the coil area of the solenoid receives a piston element, which, in turn, has an O-ring which co-acts with a dashpot cylinder. Constricted air passage elements are formed in the piston element and are provided with relatively large air passages which have mufflers thereon so that no sound is made when air ingresses or egresses through these constricted passages due to actuation and deactuation of the solenoid. To silence both ends of travel of the solenoid armature, the solenoid is mounted above a base plate on a mounting bracket and the solenoid armature carries a pad extending from a side opposite the dashpot.
