According to the present invention a foam-forming composition is provided which exhibits a high expansion ratio and at the same time conferring optimal appearance of the formed foam to allow sufficient contact time of the active to the target site in the intestine in order to obtain optimal local effect. The composition according to the present inventions provides superior properties for the treatment of rectal diseases.
