Abstract: A filter strip is provided for rolling sheets to construct custom cigars and/or cigarettes. The filter strip may be made of a deformable material which can be positioned on one end of the rolling sheet. The filter strip can be folded in a zig zag or spiral filter section with open section located longitudinally below to form a filter tip. The filter tip can assist the user in rolling by hand a substantially cylindrical or conical cigar or cigarette. The filter tip prevents tobacco filler material from being drawn through the cigar or cigarette and into a user's mouth, and permits the entire amount of tobacco filler to be consumed/smoked without risking burned hands and/or lips.

Abstract: The present invention relates to screening methods, and in particular, to methods of screening DNA libraries to identify DNA molecules which when expressed in a host cell, give rise to at least one change in the phenotype of the host cell and such phenotype changes being detected using a patch clamp chip construct. Furthermore, the invention concerns the isolation of mRNA, corresponding to the DNA molecule, giving rise to said cellular phenotypic change.

Abstract: A cordless telephone which includes a static RAM (50) for storing time management information and a real time clock (52). The time management information which includes telephone numbers and diary information is written into the static RAM (50) using a personal computer (PC) during recharging of the telephone's batteries. In operation, the telephone's microcontroller (40) compares the real time with entries stored in the static RAM (50) and when there is coincidence, an alert is given to the user. Alternatively data entered into the static RAM (50) by a user using a key pad (46) or derived from a received radio telephone link can be read-out to the PC when the batteries are being recharged.
