  • Patent number: 9078884
Abstract: The present invention relates to a material and method for providing spinal fusion. One preferred method comprises: accessing the intervertebral space defined between adjacent vertebrae; mixing magnesia, potassium biphosphate, and a calcium phosphate with an aqueous solution forming an activated spinal fusion slurry (ASFS); applying an effective amount of the ASFS to the intervertebral space between adjacent vertebrae; allowing the ASFS to set forming a bonded vertebrae structure; permitting bone growth into the bonded vertebrae structure providing fusion of the two adjacent vertebrae.

  • Publication number: 20100034898
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for providing cartilage proliferation generally comprising: supplying a dry potassium phosphate based mixture comprising: monobasic potassium phosphate, a metal oxide, and a tertiary calcium phosphate, wherein the weight percent ratio of monobasic potassium phosphate to metal oxide is between about 3:1 and 1:1; mixing the dry potassium phosphate based mixture with an aqueous solution forming an activated cartilage proliferating slurry (ACPS); applying an amount of the activated potassium phosphate based ACPS to a site of desired cartilage proliferation. In one or more preferred embodiments the dry mixture further comprises: a sugar (or sugar derivate/replacement) and/or mono-sodium phosphate.

  • Patent number: 7429290
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fire-resistant coating and method thereof, which confers enhanced flame and heat resistance to substrate such as building materials. The invented coating is especially applicable to cellulose-based building materials including but not limited to fiberboards, wallboards, roofing materials, particleboards, ceiling tiles, soundproofing boards and hardboards. This novel composition is also useful in providing a fire-resistant coating for concrete, metals, foamed polymeric materials, gypsum and other substrates. A preferred embodiment generally comprising: mono potassium phosphate, magnesium oxide, silica powder, calcium silicate, rice hull ash and water. A method for imparting fire-retardancy to substrates using the invented composition is also described.

  • Patent number: 7045476
Abstract: An aerated refractory is provided comprising a mixture containing a phosphate compound, a metal oxide, a calcium containing compound; and an agent for increasing the volume of the mixture. Also provided is a method for protecting a substrate with aerated refractory, the method comprising dry mixing mono-potassium phosphate with a metal oxide and a calcium containing compound (i.e. hydroxyapatite) to produce a homogenous dry mixture; adding water to the mixture to produce a slurry; adding a foaming agent to the slurry; applying the slurry to the substrate; and allowing the slurry to dry.
