  • Publication number: 20050230575
Abstract: The mobile fluid delivery system includes a mobile pedestal and a fluid delivery superstructure detachably connected to the pedestal. The fluid delivery superstructure includes a pump device and a fluid control device. A fluid path set operatively associates the pump device with the fluid control device. The superstructure is further adapted to detachably connect to a patient examination platform. A rail mount is used to provide the interface between the superstructure and the patient examination platform. The rail mount attaches to a rail of the patient examination platform and includes a main body defining an elongated recess for engaging the rail of the patient examination platform. The superstructure detachably connects to the main body. Locking devices are used to secure the rail mount to the patient examination platform and the superstructure to the rail mount. A spacer may be inserted into the elongated recess to accommodate different sized rails.

  • Publication number: 20050234407
Abstract: The fluid delivery system generally includes a source of injection fluid, a pump device a fluid path set disposed between the source of injection fluid and the pump device, and a fluid control device. The fluid path set includes a multi-position valve. The fluid control device is operatively associated with the fluid path set and includes a valve actuator adapted to operate the multi-position valve. The valve actuator is adapted to close the multi-position valve to isolate the pump device from a patient and stop flow of the injection fluid to the patient at substantially any pressure or flow rate generated by the pump device for delivering a sharp bolus of the injection fluid to the patient. The valve actuator is generally adapted to selectively place the pump device in fluid communication with the source of injection fluid for supplying the injection fluid to the pump device and the patient.

  • Patent number: 5125522
Abstract: A closure which permits the opening of a membrane seal of an enteral nutritional product container in a single-action motion while maintaining product sterility. This closure includes a general cylindrical side wall having threads along the inner surface thereof, a planar top surface having first and second upwardly extending projections. The first projection is associated with a filter means for allowing air to enter the container, while the second projection has a base which is a spikable membrane. A bottom surface having an annular raised portion is provided. The bottom surface has a downwardly projecting plow member as well abutting against gasket means positioned between the annular raised portion and the inner surface of the side wall.
