  • Publication number: 20060127831
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to devices designed for the combustion of liquid fuels and specifically to an improved method and apparatus for burning high-viscosity and waste oil. The subject invention utilizes fuel transported from a remote source fed initially into an oil regulator in conjunction with an oil solenoid valve located on the external burner assembly. The oil proceeds into an oil preheating chamber contained within a preheater block. A heating element in the oil preheating chamber is dormant until the burner calls for heat. Pressurized air from a remote source enters the burner assembly through an air regulator and air solenoid valve then proceeds into a cumulative air tank.

  • Patent number: 5360334
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to devices designed for the combustion of liquid fuels and specifically to an improved apparatus for burning high-viscosity and waste oil. The subject invention utilizes a piston mechanism to transport fuel from its source to the subject burner. The piston mechanism, in conjunction with a pressure-sensitive valve device, also pressurizes the fuel to a predetermined level before releasing said fuel through a nozzle for pressurized dispersion atomization. The piston speed and stroke length can be adjusted in order to regulate fuel flow. After emission from the nozzle, the atomized fuel encounters a single-spark ignition device to induce flame. The atomized fuel and flame produced is enveloped by a unique retention head designed to promote complete fuel combustion and protect the burner chamber from over-heating.

  • Patent number: 5041274
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for cooling and removing the toxic particulates, heavy metals, noxious fumes, and acid from the gaseous products of the combustion of materials high in impurities and/or toxic substances. Said invention accomplishes the above when dense exhaust and smoke emitted by a furnace are drawn through a series of three treatment chambers by the tremendous vacuum effect of extremely high-velocity vertical water and alkaline solution jets. The hydraulic pressure of the water and alkaline solution jets, in addition to providing draft, forces impurities in the gaseous waste to hydraulically dilute or dissolve in a turbulent liquid bath below. The apparatus improves the efficiency of any furnace to which it is attached by channeling exhaust-heated water through an external radiator, thereby supplementing the heat output of the furnace to which the device is attached.
