  • Patent number: 5337760
Abstract: A head support assembly for immobilizing the head of a supine patient during brain tomography includes a mounting panel including mounting straps for securing the assembly to the patient support table of an imaging apparatus. A head frame assembly extends from one end of the panel and includes a pair of head frame elements having upstanding leg portions and horizontal head clamping portions. An adjustment screw connects the free ends of the head frame elements to permit the clamping of a patient's head therebetween. A head sling is suspended between the head clamping portions, being adjustably attached thereto by means of hook and loop fasteners. Forehead and chin restraining straps are also adjustably secured by means of hook and loop fasteners to the head frame elements. An optional neck support strap may also be attached to the head frame elements by means of hook and loop fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4627126
Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning the hooked portion of hook and loop fasteners includes a body member defining a curved surface on which is mounted a strip of hooked fastener material. A debris collecting surface of sticky, resilient material is disposed adjacent one edge of said hooked fastener material in substantially tangential alignment therewith. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the sticky surface is disposed on a replaceable, rotatable cylindrical roll. The repeated stroking movement of the hooked fastener material over the surface to be cleaned effects a loosening of debris which is collected on the sticky surface.

  • Patent number: 4181297
Abstract: A positioning device for holding a human limb in a fixed position on a table for examination and/or X-ray photography. The device secures the limb against movement in any direction and is thus particularly adapted for stress arthrogram examinations. A lever actuated suction cup assembly selectively positionable on a table carries a horizontal limb support plate in spaced relation above the table. A pair of opposed upstanding clamp assemblies are slidably mounted on the support plate and are selectively adjustable into a fixed clamping position in engagement with a human limb placed therebetween on the support plate. The limb engaging surfaces of the clamp assemblies have a concave configuration and are selectively angularly adjustable to accommodate the taper of the secured limb.
