  • Publication number: 20240079929
Abstract: A fluid moving apparatus includes an electric motor having a rotor and a stator and a propeller. The rotor rotates relative to the stator on an axis to generate a rotational output. The rotational output is provided to the propeller to power the marine propulsion apparatus. The stator includes one or more coils configured to power rotation of the rotor. The one or more coils extend circumferentially around and can be coaxial on the axis. A portion of a housing of the motor extends into the aquatic environment to facilitate heat dissipation.

  • Patent number: 6200190
Abstract: A mechanism adaptable for a toy provides a hugging motion to a pair of arms extending outward from each side of a rear body member. A front body member is supported by a bottom hinge in V-shaped hinged relation in front of the rear body member. Each arm is comprised of an upper arm and a relatively long forearm supported in hinged relation on the outer end of the upper arm. For each arm, a wide, elongated, yielding forearm actuator is hingedly attached on its outer end to the forearm and on its inner end to the front body member. A hand is hingedly supported on the outward end of the forearm. Supported in front of the forearm is an elongated, yielding hand actuator adapted to move the hand when the forearm actuator is moved toward the forearm. Squeezing the body portions together causes the forearm actuators to pivot the forearms forward in a hugging motion.

  • Patent number: 6096282
Abstract: A process for forming high quality crystalline refractory materials, particularly gallium (III) nitride (GaN), from solid precursors. By blending dry reactants, including NH.sub.4 Cl, in an oxygen and moisture free environment, placing the reactants in a reaction vessel and in an inert environment, rapidly exposing the reactants to a temperature in excess of about 225.degree. C. The soluble salt by-products are then extracted from the resultant mixture, leaving high purity crystals of the nitride in the form of a fine powder.
