  • Patent number: 8657978
Abstract: A method for forming a longitudinal edge region of a transport/drive belt having at least two layers of a thermoplastic material and at least one layer of a woven fabric web includes positioning a mat at one longitudinal edge of the transport/drive belt. The method further includes transferring heat and pressure to the transport/drive belt so as to melt and merge at least a region of the at least two layers of thermoplastic material without adding any additional material, solidifying the at least two layers of thermoplastic material, and removing the mat.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 21, 2007
Date of Patent: February 25, 2014
    Assignee: Forbo Siegling GmbH
    Inventors: Dieter Hoffmann, Thomas Kaemper
  • Patent number: 8003554
Abstract: In a clothing support for a card flat covering, the belt-shaped support is made of plastics material, and there is embedded in a base body at least one reinforcing insert which is also belt-shaped and which is arranged in the vicinity of the back of the support. In order to make possible stronger anchoring by simple means and to allow undisrupted oscillation of clothing wires, the base body has at least two layers (bottom layer and top layer) of different plastics materials connected to one another, and the bottom layer incorporates a fabric.

  • Publication number: 20090098385
Abstract: A multi-layered belt, in particular a continuous running and/or transport and/or processing belt, includes a traction layer and a functional layer that contains a gel. To reduce the stress placed on the transported goods, in particular persons, the gel is an unplasticized gel and the functional layer consist of a coating containing the interspersed gel. In addition, to a method for producing a belt of this type is provided, in which the gel is poured in a continuous method onto the traction layer and a mixer and delivery unit is guided back and forth in a reversible manner perpendicular to the displacement direction of the traction layer in such a way that a gel layer with a uniform thickness is applied to the traction layer. Furthermore, the use of said belt as a running belt for persons, in particular as a running belt for training and/or fitness equipment is described.
