Abstract: Asphalt binders and related methods and uses are provided. In some embodiments, the asphalt binder is produced by: providing a high-asphaltene content petroleum feedstock; performing solvent deasphalting on the feedstock to produce a partially deasphalted oil and an asphaltene-rich residue; and collecting the partially deasphalted oil (DAO). The high-asphaltene content petroleum feedstock may comprise residue from vacuum distillation or flash separation of extra heavy oil or bitumen, or recycled asphalt. The DAO may itself be used as the asphalt binder or may be a component of a blend with the original feedstock. Asphalt binders may also be produced by blending residue and heavy distillate produced from vacuum distillation or flash separation, with DAO or the asphaltene-rich residue of the solvent deasphalting process. The disclosed methods allow for production of asphalt binders of a wide variety of performance grades.

Abstract: System and method to produce a virtual trusted database record, the method including receiving, by a processor coupled to a user-facing communication interface and to a memory, a request for the virtual trusted database record, the virtual trusted database record including a plurality of record data fields. Then identifying a business context of the request and assigning a respective priority to each of the record data fields, based upon the business context. Mapping each of the record data fields to a respective database source for data to populate the respective data field, the respective database source having a predetermined level of authoritativeness based upon the assigned priority. Retrieving data for each data field from the database source mapped to the respective data field, and assembling the retrieved data for each data field to produce the virtual trusted database record.

Abstract: A method and system for improving aggregated data sets through crowd sourcing. The method includes organizing a plurality of data sets into an aggregated data set, providing search access to at least a portion of the aggregated data set based upon a subscription level associated with a user, and returning results to the user. Organizing the plurality of data sets into an aggregated data set includes receiving data from a plurality of sources, parsing the data, translating the parsed data into its native format and content, tagging the parsed data with attributes detailing how the data is entered, wherein the attributes comprise geographic location information, and mapping the translated data into a plurality of database tables within the aggregated data set. The system includes various components for performing the method.
