Patent number: 10339175Abstract: Methods and systems for aggregating digital content captured at an event. In one aspect, a connection is established from a computing device to a Near Field Communication (NFC) enabled event check-in point located at the event. The NFC enabled event check-in point is encoded with event identification information for the event. The event identification information includes an event Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for a webpage associated with a computing system. The computing device receives event identification information including the event URL from the NFC enabled event check-in point, and transmits digital images captured at the event to a computing system.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2016Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Dave Cohen, Matthew Steiner, Thomas Kang, Chandrashekar Raghavan

Patent number: 9967294Abstract: A media sharing system stores share settings that identify one or more users with whom a sharing user wishes to share media segments created in the future. As a media item is being presented to the sharing user via a user device, the sharing user may request to share a segment of the media item. The media sharing system creates a segment of the media item. The media sharing system determines to share the segment with the identified users based on the stored share settings. The media sharing system shares the created segment with the identified users.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: Google LLCInventor: Thomas Kang

Patent number: 8788074Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system is described. A score difference associated with an episode of a game is determined, wherein the score difference represents a difference between an actual score of a target player in the game episode and an actual score of a reference player in the game episode. A first adjusted score indicator associated with the game episode is determined, wherein the adjusted score indicator represents a sum of the score difference associated with the game episode and an estimated skill level of the reference player. An estimated skill level of the target player is determined, wherein the estimated skill level of the target player is based upon, at least in part, a weighted average of the first adjusted score indicator and one or more other adjusted score indicators.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2012Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Justin Lewis, Thomas Kang

Patent number: 8056566Abstract: A smoking article includes a tobacco column, a binder surrounding the tobacco column, a first wrapper surrounding the binder, and at least one additional removable wrapper which surrounds the first wrapper and is removably secured to a wrapper beneath the additional removable wrapper. Packaging for a smoking article involves a supportive tube surrounding the smoking article and sealed in a package, where the package is made from a front and a rear sheet sealed together to form a sealed envelope.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2010Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: National Honey Almond/NHA, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Kang, Thomas Kang

Publication number: 20070035541Abstract: A face, as well as any other soft tissue of a character, can be animated much in the same way that a skeleton is animated by creating a soft tissue solver attached to the surface mesh. In particular, deformation objects are associated with regions of the surface mesh. The deformation objects deform the mesh according to deformation operators in response to a change in a control object. This soft tissue solver can be generated automatically given a set of salient points specified on an input mesh and a format file for the class of objects of which the input mesh is an example. The format file specifies what the salient points are, and the relative placement of the deformation objects and control objects as functions of the salient points. Specific deformation operators can be defined and associated, through the format file, with the deformation objects and control objects.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2006Publication date: February 15, 2007Inventors: Michael Isner, Thomas Kang, Javier von der Pahlen

Publication number: 20050195221Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for facilitating presentation of content on communication device displays. A side-by-side or other adjacent display presentation allows content to be viewed in both a thumbnail view and a reformatted enhanced view. Content is converted to a raster image which is in turn segmented, either automatically or involving user guidance, to create a segmented raster image. Resulting segments may be selected for viewing in the enhanced viewing mode, such as an enlarged, reformatted presentation to allow the targeted region to be more easily viewed and/or to require fewer user interface manipulations. Regions can be labeled for simple and efficient selection of targeted regions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2004Publication date: September 8, 2005Inventors: Adam Berger, Thomas Kang, Tony Dewitt, Gregory Schohn
