  • Patent number: 12612026
Abstract: A method for determining a continuous braking power for a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, the method having the steps: determining an ambient temperature; determining a speed, wherein the speed is representative of the speed of the vehicle, in particular the commercial vehicle; determining a thermal emission per unit time of a friction braking device on the basis of the ambient temperature and the speed; and determining the continuous braking power of the friction braking device on the basis of the thermal emission per unit time.

  • Publication number: 20250360913
Abstract: A method is for controlling a vehicle having an electric drive for driving wheels. A drive control unit generates a target torque and/or a target rotation speed and outputs them to the relevant drive. The method includes: determining a speed; determining an actual wheel dynamics variable which characterizes the rotational behavior of an individual wheel; determining thresholds associated with the wheels; determining a deviation between the actual wheel dynamics variable and the threshold and, if an impermissible deviation is present: limiting the target torque and/or the target rotation speed for the wheel with the impermissible deviation. If control deviations for the wheels of an axle which are different on different sides are determined, a brake request signal is output by the drive control unit. The limit torque and/or the limit rotation speed is specified/adjusted depending on the braking torque applied by the service brakes.

  • Publication number: 20250289322
Abstract: A method is for torque-based operation of an inverter of an electric drive of a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle. The electric drive is set up for regenerative braking. A control unit is connected to the inverter and different from the inverter and is for controlling a friction brake device and/or the electric drive. The method includes: measuring an actual rpm of the electric drive via the inverter; ascertaining a rpm limit determined based on a target rpm for a wheel which is able to be driven by the electric drive via the controller; determining an updated rpm limit as a function of the rpm limit and the actual rpm via the controller; and, operating the inverter at a reduced torque based on the updated rpm limit.

  • Publication number: 20250196651
Abstract: A method is for regulating a generator braking moment of an electric drive for a vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle. The method includes: sensing a call for braking for the purpose of braking the vehicle using a setpoint braking moment; and, regulating the generator braking moment in dependence on the setpoint braking moment and on a trigger condition. The regulating is effected within a plurality of cycles. Within a cycle, changing of a generator braking moment provided by the electric drive is effected. Each of the cycles includes a first sub-cycle and a second sub-cycle. In the first sub-cycle, the changing includes reducing the generator braking moment and, in the second sub-cycle, the changing includes increasing the generator braking moment.

  • Publication number: 20250196659
Abstract: A method is for controlling a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, having an electric drive, which has been configured for regenerative braking, and a friction-brake device. The method includes: capturing selection information; ascertaining a set of trigger thresholds and a slip-control method on the basis of the selection information, wherein the set of trigger thresholds includes one or more threshold-value conditions defined for the purpose of detecting the wheel-locking tendency; detecting a wheel-locking tendency on the basis of the one or more threshold-value conditions; and instigating a control of the electric drive and/or of the friction-brake device on the basis of the slip-control method and the set of trigger thresholds when the wheel-locking tendency has been detected.

  • Publication number: 20240262211
Abstract: A device is for controlling an electric drive of a trailer vehicle and includes a manual operating unit, which can be arranged in a driver's cab of a towing vehicle, for generating and outputting a request signal for the electric drive in response to a manual selection using the operating unit or a manual input into the operating unit, and a control unit, in particular a brake control unit, of a towing vehicle for receiving the request signal, generating a control signal on the basis of the request signal and outputting the control signal to an electric drive of the trailer vehicle or to a trailer brake control unit of the trailer vehicle. A method is for controlling an electric drive of a trailer vehicle via the device.
