Abstract: A freezer malfunction notification device is provided. The device is comprised of a body configured to retain a volume of freezable liquid, a lid including an opening and a gasket, an indicator disk, and an optional fastener for mounting to an interior surface of a refrigeration compartment. The body may be constructed from transparent or translucent materials. Upon freezing of the liquid within the body and subsequent placement of the indicator disk on the frozen liquid surface, any subsequent melting of the liquid due to temperature rise causes the disk to descend irreversibly downward within the body. This displacement is retained upon refreezing of the liquid, thereby visually indicating that a defrosting event has occurred.

A request to access a first service of a plurality of services of a network may be received from a principal by an identity intermediary. An identifier of the first service may be stored at the identity intermediary, and an unsigned credential of the principal and a principal identifier may be transferred from the identity intermediary to a credential provider. The principal identifier and the credential signed by the credential provider may be received, and the signed credential may be transmitted to the first service for authentication.

Quality water, one or more alcohol(s) and one or more surfactant(s) penetrate the fabric weave. One or more acids lower pH to stabilize sensitive dyes, thus ensuring color-safeness. Alcohols hasten drying and fragrances mask alcohol odor and help consumers identify the product. Mechanical action(s) by the user enhances wrinkle removal or imparts shape. Optional malodor-eliminating compounds keep fabrics fresh longer, or refresh malodorous garments. Optional specific quaternary ammonium compound reduces static cling but does not significantly increase residues. The composition de-wrinkles commercial fabrics, and clothing from casual to fine, spray applied using a pre-compression sprayer. The composition is environmentally friendly, safe for use on all types of fabrics, and safe for use at home or commercially.

Abstract: A hanger for storing footwear and/or for displaying footwear for sale at a retail establishment is comprised of a frame having an upright stem with a hanging hook at its upper end and a crossbar at its lower end, and a pair of footwear supporting members extending upwardly from opposite ends of the crossbar, and a pair of footwear receiving footpads mounted respectively on the supporting members. Each hanger is adapted to receive and store or to receive and display a pair of footwear products. In a retail establishment, a plurality of the footwear bearing hangers may be hung on a display rack for displaying to customers a plurality of footwear products of different styles and/or different sizes. The mode of display promotes self service and impulse sales, especially of economical, mass produced footwear products.

Abstract: A method for welding a component includes the steps of: selecting a weld area in the part which is located near a feature of interest; applying a weld to a portion of the weld area, wherein solidification of the first weld causes deviation of the feature from a desired position; and cold working the first weld so as to impart plastic deformation therein to a degree that material is extruded outward from the first weld. The deviation of the feature is at least partially reversed. The method may include the step of applying and cold working a series of spaced-apart tack welds in a defect, and then applying and cold-working a series of welds between the tack welds.

Abstract: Footwear having a shoe upper and a sandal type sole are made from an upper having a lower marginal edge with a plurality of spaced fingers extending from the lower marginal edge, a footbed having a peripheral edge and a plurality of spaced slots therethrough adjacent the peripheral edge and aligned respectively with the fingers, the fingers being extended through the slots and folded over onto the lower surface of the foot bed, an outsole secured to the lower surface of the footbed and the folded portions of the fingers and securing the fingers between the footbed and the outsole, and a structural arrangement for concealing from view the lower marginal edge and the fingers of the upper. A mid-sole is optionally provided between the footbed and the outsole. A method of making the footwear is described.

Abstract: Foot enclosing footwear having the wearing experience and comfort of sandals are comprised of a sole and an upper each having a front portion extending from approximately the ball of the foot forward to the toes of the foot and a back portion extending from approximately the ball of the foot rearward to the heel of the foot. The front portion of the upper is affixed to the front portion of the sole and encompasses the front portion of the foot. The back portion of the upper encompasses the back portion of the foot and is not affixed to the sole. Rather, the back portion of the upper is free of the sole and free to move in an arc relative to the sole. Consequently, the upper is free to flex without requiring the sole to flex, thereby providing the walking sensation of a sandal while fully enclosing the foot. The footwear may be of substantially any style or appearance from dress shoes to boots.

Abstract: Footbeds for footwear, especially sandals, are formed from weldable plastic materials, such as industrial and commercial carpeting, and are provided with patterns welded into the material and with decorative prints or patterns welded to the physical patterns. The footbeds are very decorative in appearance and produce very saleable footwear products. A process for conveniently and economically producing the decorative footbeds is also disclosed.
