  • Patent number: 7513184
Abstract: A pyrotechnically-ruptureable composite structural component, intended to transmit forces between first and second structural elements, has an elongate pyrotechnic detonation separation component incorporated in the structural component for breaking the structural component and separating the first and second elements. The structural component has a first part in which the pyrotechnic separation component is incorporated and which is able to be connected to the first element, and a second part that connects to the second element. The first and second parts are rigidly assembled via their free ends, which are the opposite ends to the first and second elements respectively. The rigid assembly has a damper arranged between the free ends of the first and second elements so as to damp a detonation shock propagating to the free end of the first part when the pyrotechnic separation component is detonated.

  • Publication number: 20070156311
Abstract: Wireless communication is established between a vehicle having one or more on-board diagnostic systems and a mobile phone. Automotive diagnostic data is received by the mobile phone to indicate, for example, that maintenance is required for the vehicle or the occurrence of an event such as an airbag deployment or security breach. Automotive diagnostic data is uploaded from the mobile phone to a service center to generate service call reminders, welfare checks or to track vehicle performance, system usage or component wear.

  • Publication number: 20070139553
Abstract: An electronic device and method for controlling the electronic device are disclosed. The electronic device includes at least one interface, a processor and a video processor. The interface receives a first audio signal and a first video signal. The processor receives either the first audio signal or the first video signal and compares a characteristic of that signal against a threshold value. The processor also outputs a first control signal, based on the comparison. The video processor receives the first control signal and outputs a composite video signal in response to the first control signal comprised of a television program or content retrieved from a DVD and an icon.

  • Publication number: 20070133760
Abstract: A media clip, such as a video clip or an audio/video clip, is provided as a ringback tone for an incoming call. A specific media clip may be dedicated for specific callers or for a group of callers. A processor detects an incoming call and determines if a media clip is assigned for the caller based on communication information associated with the caller such as Caller ID. The processor may also determine that the original ringback tones should be provided to an individual caller. The media clips may be downloaded to the processor by a user and may be assigned to specific callers by the user.

  • Publication number: 20070109133
Abstract: A method for monitoring motion of an entity within a predetermined boundary established using a location detection technology. Sensor data is acquired from a motion sensor that senses non-positional movement of the entity and is attachable to the entity. A learned movement pattern associated with the entity is accessed. Computing techniques are used to analyze the acquired sensor data in relationship to the learned movement pattern. A current movement pattern is identified based on the analysis. It is determined whether the current movement pattern is a reportable movement pattern, and if so, a predetermined action is performed.

  • Publication number: 20070083788
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for testing for an open port of an endpoint device in a communication network is described. A test request message is sent from the endpoint device to a server. The test request message is configured to request the server to send a test message to a port of the endpoint device using a protocol. The port is polled for the test message during a time period. The port is indicated as being open if the test message is received by the endpoint device at the port before expiration of the time period. A connect failure message is sent to the server if the test message is not received by the endpoint device at the port before expiration of the time period. The connect failure message may be configured to request the server to send another test message to the endpoint device.
