  • Patent number: 9466268
Abstract: A folding stringed instrument has a narrow body, a neck with a fret board and strings. Tuning pegs and a bridge are on a front face of the body, with an optional microphone pick-up and a stand at the end of the body. The neck and body are connected about a pivot set back from the face. The pivot comprises a pin between the opposite sides of the flange and a secondary roller. The neck is formed of an aluminum channel, with the fret board secured to one side and a closure plate closing the channel. Trunnions extend from the channel at the body end of the neck for connection to the pin. At the head end, the web of the channel is cut away and the flanges bent inwards in a lazy Z manner to support a further pivot pin for a primary roller around which the strings pass.

  • Patent number: 7420226
Abstract: High-speed silicon CMOS circuits and high-power AlGaN/GaN amplifiers are integrated on the same wafer. A thin layer of high resistivity silicon is bonded on a substrate. Following the bonding, an AlGaN/GaN structure is grown over the bonded silicon layer. A silicon nitride or a silicon oxide layer is then deposited over the AlGaN/GaN structure. Following this, a thin layer of silicon is bonded to the silicon nitride/silicon oxide layer. An area for the fabrication of AlGaN/GaN devices is defined, and the silicon is etched away from those areas. Following this, CMOS devices are fabricated on the silicon layer and AlGaN/GaN devices fabricated on the AlGaN/GaN surface.

  • Patent number: 7200453
Abstract: A method of optimising a design of a component by conducting at least one analysis employing a 3D computer model which incorporates empirically obtained data values stored as 2D data sets. Ambiguities between values from different data sets which relate to common nodes, where the nodes define polygonal elements common to both 2D data sets, are resolved by determining an apparent area of said common polygonal elements from each of the at least two 2D datasets. The data value from the 2D dataset associated with the common polygonal element having the greater apparent area is used. An optimum component design is selected on the basis of the results of the analysis.
