Abstract: An auxiliary shelf apparatus positionable with respect to the outer edge of a shelf for providing an extension of the shelf surface onto which file boxes stored on the shelf can be pulled and there supported for inspection of contents. A tray surface is provided with a support bracket which engages the shelf upon which the file box is stored and the next-above shelf to support the tray surface in generally flush alignment with the shelf. The support bracket is adjustable to fit shelving having various spacings between shelves. The auxiliary shelf apparatus is disengageable from the shelving so that it may be readily movable to different locations on the shelving.
