  • Patent number: 11916368
Abstract: The invention relates to remote activation of a communication module of a self-powered intelligent electronic device (IED). The IED controls an auto recloser mounted on an electric pole of a power distribution network. A controller of the IED, receives an activation signal from a trigger source, positioned within a predefined distance from the IED, through an optical sensor to activate the communication module. A control signal is generated, upon the controller of the IED detecting the activation signal, for powering the communication module from a power supply module. The power supply module is enabled to power the communication module for a duration controlled with the control signal. The communication module is activated for communicating a plurality of data associated with the IED to a remote communication device upon enabling the power supply module for the communication module.

  • Patent number: 8453113
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a computing device being configured to execute a configuration software tool for providing a plurality of function blocks and connections between function blocks in a visual representation of configuration data of an intelligent electronic device, wherein each function block is for executing a function in the intelligent electronic device. The configuration tool comprises computer-executable instructions for retrieving hardware configuration data relating to external variables created by second configuration software, and for causing the computer to generate a visual representation having the plurality of function blocks and said hardware configuration data. The present disclosure also provides a configuration system of an intelligent electronic device for power transmission and distribution.

  • Publication number: 20100229098
Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed for configuring an intelligent electronic device, having a configuration unit configured to provide a plurality of function blocks into a visual representation of a configuration of the intelligent electronic device. Each function block is configured for executing a function in the intelligent electronic device and has a predetermined set of connection interfaces for connecting the function block with other function blocks or external variables. A checking unit is configured to check, for a function block, a completion status of the connections of the function block in the configuration, and an indicating unit is configured to provide a visual indication in the visual representation to indicate the completion status of the connections of the function block.

  • Publication number: 20060120080
Abstract: A control for a multisensory apparatus comprises means for detecting a number of lights connected to the control. The control further includes means responsive to the detecting means for operating the light(s) connected to the control in either of first and second different modes of operation in dependence upon the detected number of lights connected thereto. Still further, the control includes means for actuating an active material dispenser.
