  • Patent number: 7259332
Abstract: Multi-member cables which are comprised of two or more components (including component cables and non-cable components) held together by at least one adhesive element placed between the components, and methods for manufacturing such cables. Multi-member cables which are comprised of jacketed cables whose jackets are adhered together without the use of an adhesive element, such as by co-forming the jackets, and methods for manufacturing such cables are also discussed. Generally, the components will be separated from the multi-member cable by an installer, although other methods may also be used.

  • Patent number: 5821467
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flat-type communication cable for carrying frequencies in excess of 4 Mhz. The cable has a plurality of longitudinally extending conductor passageways positioned side-by-side and preferably at least four passageways such that there are two end longitudinal passageways and a plurality of side-by-side intermediate passageways. Each passageway has a longitudinally extending opening which opens to an adjacent passageway. There are twisted pair conductors loosely located in each of the passageways with not more than one twisted pair conductor being in each passageway. Each twisted pair conductor has a cross-sectional envelope area less than a cross-sectional envelope area of the passageway in which the twisted pair is contained.

  • Patent number: 5401908
Abstract: An insulated conductor pair includes a first insulated conductor including a first insulating material over more than half of an exterior surface of the first insulated conductor. The insulated conductor pair further includes a second insulated conductor including a second insulating material over more than half of an exterior surface of the second insulated conductor. The first and second insulating materials are distinguishable from one another.
