  • Publication number: 20100095607
Abstract: The panel includes a water resistant barrier layer secured atop its outward facing surface. The water resistant barrier layer includes a skid resistant surface. The panels are made of lignocellulosic material. The water resistant and skid resistant surface may include indicia for aligning strips of tape or for aligning fasteners. A method for manufacturing the water resistant building panels is also disclosed and includes the steps of feeding paper onto a forming belt, depositing lignocellulosic material and the binding agent onto the forming belt so as to form a lignocellulosic mat, applying heat and pressure so as to impart the skid resistant surface on the paper, and cutting panels to predetermined sizes.

  • Patent number: 7677002
Abstract: The invention comprises a wall sheathing barrier system having moisture permeability and simple improved installation method. The system comprises adjoined structural panels. Each panel has an overlay paper bonded permanently to the structural panel, which provides a moisture permeable barrier and a textured skid-resistant surface. The skid resistant surface may include indicia for aligning strips of tape or for aligning fasteners. Further, the seams of adjoining panels are sealed with a sealing means to complete the moisture barrier.

  • Patent number: 7150128
Abstract: A board is provided that includes a pattern to facilitate attachment of the board to a frame structure. The pattern comprises a first array of marks disposed along a first imaginary line; a second array of marks disposed along a second imaginary line, said first and second imaginary lines being spaced a first predetermined distance apart; and a third array of marks disposed along a third imaginary line, said first and third imaginary lines being spaced a second predetermined distance apart. The board may be used in a variety of construction applications, where the pattern facilitates the quick attachment of the board to an underlying frame.

  • Patent number: 6634729
Abstract: In an apparatus for applying ink patterns on oriented strand boards, the boards are serially moved closely adjacent to and past ink jets, and ink is deposited on the boards. To deposit the ink accurately on the boards they are advanced by pinch and drive rollers which also ensure that the boards are flat as they move past the jets. Detectors are used to detect boards which cannot be flattened or are irregular in shape and in such a case the ink jets are moved to avoid impact by an irregular board. During printing, the panels and the ink jets are about 0.0625 inches to about 0.125 inches apart, and the panels are moved at a rate of about 150 ft/minute to 600 ft/minute.
