  • Patent number: 9376131
Abstract: A modular cart for transporting and securing femtosecond lasers and other highly sensitive equipment to medical facilities by truck transit and within medical facilities by rolling the modular cart is disclosed. The modular cart includes a cart base member with rollers, a sub plate attached to the top portion of the cart base member, a control box attached to a top end portion of the cart base member, and an adaptable interface plate attached thereto the top portion of the sub plate for selectively receiving and securing highly sensitive equipment. The adaptable interface plate may be modified by size, shape, and receiving means in order to receive and secure various specific types of highly sensitive equipment. Different adaptable interface plates may be used for receiving and securing different highly sensitive equipment.

  • Patent number: 9296405
Abstract: A cart for transporting and securing ophthalmological lasers and other highly sensitive equipment to medical facilities by a vehicle, and within medical facilities by rolling the cart is disclosed. The cart includes a cart base member with a mounting plate attached to the top portion of the cart base member, a locking mechanism attached to the mounting plate, and a circular plate, rotary swivel bearing and roller plate contained between the cart base member and the mounting plate. The circular plate allows the mounting plate and the equipment mounted thereon to rotate when the locking mechanism is in its unlatched position. This rotation allows the equipment, which may include asymmetrical equipment such as an overhanging arm associated therewith, to rotate enough to allow the otherwise asymmetrical equipment to fit through a doorway and accordingly be transported from one room in a clinic or other surgical site to another room.

  • Publication number: 20050126835
Abstract: The present invention comprises a series of modules, including a control/handle module, a cord reel/charger module, a drive module, and a chassis assembly, plus all needed electrical wiring harnesses and pneumatic tubing to connect them. Also included are means to mount the modules to any existing gurney and to each other without making permanent modifications to the gurney. The gurney is controlled by a handle assembly containing all necessary controls and indicators to allow the operator to select forward or reverse direction, increase or reduce speed of travel, observe the state of battery charge, and energize or deenergize power from the various modules. In addition, the handle may be swung down through 180 degrees to facilitate loading and unloading the gurney.
