  • Publication number: 20070159220
Abstract: The invention discloses a device for multiplying the pulse frequency of a signal, a pulse train, comprising input means for the signal and means for accessing the signal at points with a predetermined phase difference between them. The device additionally comprises means at a first level for combining accessed signal pairs, with one and the same phase distance within all the combined pairs, the output from each first level combining means being a pulse train. The device additionally comprises combining means at a second level for combining the pulse trains from the first level, and the combining means at the first level are such that the pulses in their output pulse trains have rise flanks which always coincide with the rise flank of the first signal in the combined accessed signal pairs, and fall flanks which always coincide with the fall flanks of the second signal in said pair.

  • Publication number: 20070139089
Abstract: The invention discloses a delay-locked loop circuit with input means for a signal that is to be delayed, the input means comprising means for splitting the input signal into a first and a second branch. The signal in the first branch is connected to a component for delaying the signal, and the signal in the second branch is used as a non-delayed reference for the delay caused by the delay component in the first branch. The delay component is a passive tunable delay line, and the circuit comprises tuning means for the tunable delay line, the tuning means being affected by said reference signal, and the first branch comprises output means for outputting a delayed signal with a chosen phase delay. Suitably, the delay component is continuously tunable, for example a tunable ferroelectric delay line.

  • Publication number: 20070126511
Abstract: The invention discloses an oscillator circuit (100, 200, 300, 400), comprising an oscillating element (110, 210, 310, 410) and output means (115, 215, 315, 415) for outputting an oscillation frequency from the oscillating circuit. The circuit further comprises a signal delay means (120, 220, 320, 420) which is arranged in series with the oscillating element and feeds the output signal back to the oscillating element. The delay means is (120, 220, 320, 420) tuneable with respect to the delay it provides. The oscillating element can be an amplifier or a VCO, and the delay means can be a Delay Locked Loop or a tuneable delay line, depending on the embodiment of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20070042304
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method relating to the operation of a burner and/or cooler (3), wherein gases are caused to flow through an inner pipe (7), out into an outer pipe (5) which surrounds the inner pipe (7), and back through that part of the volume of the outer pipe (5) not accommodated by the volume of the inner pipe (7). The invention is characterised by placing an inner bottom plates (8) in the outer pipe (5) in spaced relationship with the closed bottom (9) of said outer pipe (5), whereby the gases flowing through the inner pipe (7) and out into the outer pipe (5) are caused to turn back and pass between the outer pipe (5) and the inner pipe (7), thereby creating a gas pocket (12) between the bottom (9) of said outer pipe (5) and the bottom plate (8).

  • Publication number: 20060163780
Abstract: A method of cooling strip or wire products in which, subsequent to being annealed, the product is cooled to a temperature of about 20-50° C. below its oxidation temperature. The product is wound around a drum immediately downstream of an annealing path so that the product lies in mutually juxtaposed turns on the drum. It is thereafter unwound from the drum after a number of turns. The number of turns is such that the product is cooled to a desired temperature. The drum has a diameter that exceeds the diameter at which the product will be influenced mechanically by plastic deformation.

  • Patent number: 6776610
Abstract: A gas burner in which a burner head is positioned within an inner pipe that is surrounded by an outer protective pipe. Fuel is delivered to the burner head through a fuel conduit positioned within the inner pipe, and combustion air is delivered through the inner pipe. The fuel conduit terminates short of the burner head and the wall of that conduit is provided with a plurality of holes. A further pipe surrounds at least the perforated part of the fuel conduit, and one end of the further pipe extends to the the burner head while the other end is sealed against the fuel conduit to form a mixing chamber between the outside of the fuel conduit and the inside of the further pipe. A second conduit is provided to conduct a given amount of air to the mixing chamber.
