    Abstract: The retractable sunshade is a motorized pulley-operated sunshade for the front windshield of a motor vehicle that operates in a similar manner to a drapery rod. This product would protect the interior of the vehicle from intense heat build-up while the vehicle is parked outside in direct sunlight and could also serve as a theft deterrent by obstructing the view of the interior of the car from would be thieves. The unit primarily consists of a reversible electric motor, a flexible opaque shade, two guide tracks, four pulleys, a control switch, and mounting hardware. The rectangular shade would be scented with a fragrance to provide a pleasant smell for the interior of the vehicle while making it more comfortable to enter after being parked in the sun.
