  • Publication number: 20230293026
Abstract: A blood pressure monitoring device includes a wrist strap, a case, and a display. The strap portion is adapted to fasten the device to the wrist without occluding blood flow. At least one sensor modality is arranged within the case for obtaining sensor data from an artery in the wrist. In a preferred embodiment photoplethysmography sensors are incorporated in the case to generate PPG waveform data. A processor within the case is operable to compute mean arterial pressure, and optionally diastolic and systolic blood pressure based on extracted and computed features of the sensor data. Related methods and systems are also described.

  • Publication number: 20220225885
Abstract: A blood pressure monitoring device includes a wrist strap, a case, and a display. The strap portion is adapted to fasten the device to the wrist without occluding blood flow. At least one doppler probe is arranged within the case for obtaining doppler signals from an artery in the wrist. A processor within the case is operable to compute mean arterial pressure, and optionally diastolic and systolic blood pressure based on the doppler signals. Related methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 10413708
Abstract: An elongate flexible steerable guidewire for facilitating placement of a medical implement is described having a proximal section, an intermediate section, and a distal steerable section. In embodiments the distal steerable section comprises a plurality of rotatable swivel members, and an elongate directional tip extending distally from the distalmost swivel member. At least one manipulation wire is secured to the swivel members and extends proximally to the proximal section. Axial movement of manipulation wires rotates the swivel members, thereby curving the guidewire and deflecting the directional tip. An actuator or handle may be incorporated with the guidewire. Methods include placing medical implements in target regions. Exemplary applications include guiding and placement of electrical leads in the spine, and placement of angioplasty devices in the vasculature.

  • Patent number: 8344549
Abstract: A photovoltaic power system includes module strings each having photovoltaic modules connected in series. The power system further includes a generator terminal box having DC converters. The power system further includes a generator main connection line and an AC inverter. Each module string is electrically connected to a respective one of the DC converters for the module string to provide a DC voltage generated by the photovoltaic modules of the module string to the respective DC converter. The DC converters output a combined DC voltage based on the DC voltages from the module strings to the AC inverter via the generator main connection line for the AC inverter to transform the combined DC voltage into an AC voltage. The generator terminal box and the AC converter are spatially separate from one another.
