  • Patent number: 11169298
Abstract: A system for reduced noise during remote field testing (RFT). The system, while moving an RFT probe through a structure: generates, RFT probe, a magnetic field. The system detects, at a detector solenoid on the RFT probe, a measured magnetic field which is the magnetic field modified by the presence of nearby pipe, and wherein the detector solenoid has a non-uniform solenoid response (i.e. a non-uniform turn density and/or cross sectional winding area) along a longitudinal axis extending from a one end of the detector solenoid to the opposite end of the detector solenoid. The system then identifies and measures pipe properties from an analysis of the measured magnetic field, via signal processing in conjunction with modeling.

  • Publication number: 20200057025
Abstract: Systems and methods for corrosion detection of downhole tubulars. A method may include disposing a corrosion detection tool in a wellbore, wherein the corrosion detection tool comprises a transmitter comprising a segmented magnetic core, wherein the segmented magnetic core is interspersed with a sense coil and comprises segments with a core air gap between each segment; measuring a signal at a shallow mode to provide a shallow mode measurement; measuring a signal at a deep mode to provide a deep mode measurement; estimating an inner-most subterranean tubular parameter based on the shallow mode measurement; estimating an outer-most subterranean tubular parameter based on the deep mode measurement; and transmitting the inner-most subterranean tubular parameter and the outer-most subterranean tubular parameter to a wellbore surface.

  • Publication number: 20190113439
Abstract: A wireline system and method for removing wireline noise from an electromagnetic wireline tool comprising. The system may comprise a wireline measurement tool, which may comprise a wireline measurement tool body, a wireline cable traversing the tool body, and a wireline signal sensor measuring a signal induced by the wireline cable. The system may further comprise an electromagnetic wireline tool, comprising a wireline tool body, the wireline cable traversing the tool body, and a receiver measuring a signal. A method may comprise running the electromagnetic wireline tool into a wellbore on a wireline, recording wireline signals with a wireline signal sensor on a wireline measurement tool, recording signals with a receiver disposed on the electromagnetic wireline tool, and adjusting recorded signals on the receiver by subtracting filtered recorded signals from the wireline signal sensor.
