  • Publication number: 20230421041
Abstract: The present invention relates a method for optimizing electrical current in a DC link busbar of a power converter system, wherein the power converter system comprises, a first inverter bridge, connected to the DC link busbar at a first end, the first inverter bridge having a first pulse width modulation signal, and a second inverter bridge, connected to the DC link busbar at a second end, the second inverter bridge having a second pulse width modulation signal, measuring a current flowing in the DC link busbar from the first end to the second end, optimizing the current flowing in the DC link busbar by delaying the first pulse width modulation signal and the second pulse width modulation signal from each other with a carrier delay, the invention also relates to power converter and wind turbine with optimizing electrical current in a DC link busbar.

  • Patent number: 11605944
Abstract: A wind turbine with a power converter system having a plurality of power modules each with a semiconductor component, such as IGBTs, and a temperature sensor arranged in thermal connection with the semiconductor component for generating a temperature signal according to a sensed temperature. A controller receives the temperature signals from the respective power modules, and the controller can shut down operation of the power converter system in case one or more of the temperature signals indicate a temperature exceeding a trip temperature threshold, wherein the controller is arranged to monitor at least one parameter and to update the trip temperature threshold accordingly.

  • Patent number: 8742609
Abstract: A method for operating a wind turbine facility during for example a grid fault, the wind turbine facility comprising a power dissipation/storage being adapted to dissipate or store electrical energy exceeding an amount to be delivered to an associated power supply grid during the grid fault. The method includes operating the wind turbine facility in accordance with an allowed amount of electrical energy that can be dissipated or stored in the power dissipation/storage of the wind turbine facility by ensuring that a total amount of electrical energy generated by the wind turbine facility does not exceed a sum of the allowed amount and the amount to be delivered to the power supply grid.
