  • Patent number: 10035331
Abstract: A glass laminate comprises an external glass sheet, an internal glass sheet, and a polymer interlayer formed between the external glass sheet and the internal glass sheet. The external glass sheet is a chemically-strengthened glass sheet having a thickness of less than 1 mm, the polymer interlayer has a thickness of less than 1.6 mm, and the internal glass sheet is a non-chemically-strengthened glass sheet having a thickness of less than 2.5 mm.

  • Patent number: 8789392
Abstract: An apparatus for shaping a glass sheet includes an engagement member including a flexible bumper comprising a flexible material. The flexible bumper is configured to operate at the forming temperature to reduce an impact stress between the engagement member and the edge portion of the glass sheet. In another example, an apparatus for shaping a sheet of glass includes a push member configured to engage an end edge portion of the glass sheet to push the glass sheet to be transported over the support surface. The push member includes a push flange extending in a direction away from the support surface. The push flange includes a plurality of apertures configured to increase the resistance of conductive heat transfer between the end edge portion of the glass sheet and the push member. In a further example an engagement member can fabricated from a material having a coefficient of thermal conductivity that is less than a coefficient of thermal conductivity of the stainless steel.

  • Patent number: 7180031
Abstract: A power connection apparatus of a vehicle is provided that includes a pair of substantially flat electrical conductor strips each having a first end and a second end. The first ends are adapted to be electrically coupled to integrated heater conductors in an automobile glazing. A film forms a protective coating over an intermediate section of the pair of electrical conductor strips. The film insulates and maintains a spaced relationship between the pair of substantially flat electrical conductors. A pair of wires is electrically coupled to the second ends. A first protective overmold seal is formed over the second ends of the pair of substantially flat electrical conductor strips for sealing the electric coupling of the second ends of electrical conductor strips and the wires.

  • Patent number: 6902224
Abstract: A slider window assembly for an automotive vehicle comprises a fixed glass panel adapted to be installed in a window frame defined by a body panel. The fixed glass panel is bonded to the window frame by an adhesive bead and defines an opening. A sliding window opens and closes the opening and includes an edge that is received in a guide rail that is adhesively bonded to the fixed glass panel. The guide rail defines a channel for the edge of the sliding window and also includes an extension that is bonded to the window frame by the adhesive bead. In this manner, the guide rail continues to support the sliding window in the event that the fixed glass panel is unable to provide the primary support function.
