  • Patent number: 5495339
Abstract: An electronic image processing apparatus comprising an electronic scanner and an electronic printer for forming an image, a controller for directing the operation of the image processing means, the controller including a mass memory device for storing data to be printed, random access memory, a printer control, and a Resource Manager for ensuring access to the random access memory for conveying data from the mass memory device to the printer via the random access memory, the Resource Manager including a mass memory device scheduler to provide printer access to the random access memory, the mass memory device scheduler having a reservation queue to reserve mass memory device access at predetermined times, delay means to determine that access to the mass memory device is invalid within a given time, and means to convey disk request operations to said reservation queue in order to provide guaranteed random access mernory at predetermined times.

  • Patent number: 5241672
Abstract: An electronic printing system with plural hard disks for storing system files in which file management information is held in a Volume Allocation Table in internal system RAM memory with file management updates queued in NVM, with the contents of the Volume Allocation Table transferred to external disk memory when the queue of file management updates in NVM reaches a predetermined size.

  • Patent number: 4519000
Abstract: Magnetographic copier having a movable carriage on which the process stations for recording, developing, transferring and cleaning are mounted. A ribbon of magnetic tape is threaded through the process stations and is held stationary during the image processing, so that the movement of the carriage causes the tape to pass all of the process stations. A CCD array scans segments of a fixed original document and then returns to a start of scan position where it is stepped. The carriage and CCD array are concurrently stepped a distance substantially equal to width of a segment prior to the next scan. The CCD array and carriage are connected by cable and move concurrently. The elements of the CCD array are connected in a one-to-one manner with elements of a magnetic recording head at the recording station.

  • Patent number: 4255767
Abstract: An electronically controlled magnetic recorder for rapidly optically scanning an original document at a distance and for producing a latent magnetic image thereof. An electronic interface between the optical scanner and the magnetic recording head includes optional electronic halftoning circuitry, circuitry for controlling system and subsystem timing; memory circuits; write drivers and circuitry for controlling pixel alignment.

  • Patent number: 4135194
Abstract: A variable speed, fixed wavelength magnetic imaging system is provided by generating a signal having a frequency proportional to the speed of a rotational recording member and using that signal to provide a recording frequency of fixed wavelength.

  • Patent number: 4115786
Abstract: Constant wavelength magnetic imaging is provided by generating a signal having a frequency proportional to the speed of a rotational recording member, multiplying that frequency up to a higher, desired recording frequency, and phase-locking the higher frequency signal to the unmultiplied lower frequency, thus synchronizing the recording frequency with the motor speed.

  • Patent number: 4101943
Abstract: Synchronization of pixels in tracks of magnetically recorded information is provided by insuring that pixels are of substantially uniform width, particularly the first recorded pixel in each recorded track. Uniform width of pixels, particularly first pixels, is achieved through a triggering circuit which begins recording the first pixel of each track only when the record head is at the proper location. The circuit is capable of delaying the recording of a track to within a pixel length of time and divides the pixel length of time to some predetermined plurality of track recording starting points.
