  • Patent number: 7152573
Abstract: In a method for operating an internal combustion engine with exhaust gas purification system, a rich-burn mode of the internal combustion engine with a rich exhaust gas composition or a lean-burn mode of the internal combustion engine with a lean exhaust gas composition is set alternately, and the quantity of fuel which is introduced during a combustion cycle of the internal combustion engine is introduced by at least one preinjection, at least one main injection and at least one afterinjection.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20050090225
Abstract: The present invention provides a standard network system, method and apparatus for processing and routing an emergency request or call (911) and its associated location information, including GPS location information where available, from a traditional telephone device, a wireless device (Cell telephone) or voice over IP (VoIP) device. When an emergency call is detected by a Communications Service Provider (CSP) such as a Telephone Company, VOIP Service provider, Wireless Service Provider, or Originating Caller, the calling party's telephone number or identifying network address is forwarded to the CSP's Service Location Identification System (SLIS) located with and connected to the CSP's communications network. The SLIS will receive from the CSP's network call processing or switching system, the caller's telephone number (ANI) or identifying network address (INA) such as an IP address, MAC address, SIP address, or any such unique identifier of a caller.

  • Patent number: 6651614
Abstract: In a method of operating a diesel internal combustion engine, wherein a homogeneous mixture is formed in the combustion space before a spontaneous ignition by means of fuel injected directly into separately supplied combustion air, which combustion air is admitted to the combustion space in a swirling flow about the longitudinal axis of the cylinder that can be adjusted as regards its swirl intensity by a control element. A control unit adjusts the swirl intensity in a manner coordinated with the injection parameters to provide a homogeneous mixture igniting at a predetermined point for highly effective engine operation with low emissions.

  • Patent number: 6308517
Abstract: A system for automatic charging pressure control using an exhaust gas turbocharger with a variably adjustable turbine cross-section and for automatic exhaust gas recirculation control in the case of an internal-combustion engine, particularly a diesel engine. An automatic control system has a first controller which has an output for the variation of the turbine cross-section of the exhaust gas turbocharger. The command variable for the automatic exhaust gas recirculation control in a first low load-rotational speed range is the air flow rate in the intake pipe. The command variable for the automatic charging pressure control in a second higher load-rotational speed range is the charging pressure in the intake pipe. For the automatic exhaust gas recirculation control, an exhaust gas recirculation pipe connects the exhaust gas pipe with the suction pipe.
