Patent number: 11185338Abstract: Devices, assemblies, systems, and techniques described herein may facilitate the closure of hollow anatomical structures (e.g., veins) with adhesive delivered within the hollow anatomical structure. For example, a medical assembly may include a plurality of medial compression members extending from a central body in a first direction, each medial compression member of the plurality of medial compression members comprising a first attachment element, and a plurality of lateral compression members extending from the central body in a second direction different than the first direction, each lateral compression member of the plurality of lateral compression members comprising a second attachment element. Each first attachment mechanism may be configured to attach to the respective second attachment element to create a respective loop configuration with a respective medial compression member and lateral compression member pair to compress a portion of the limb of the patient.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2019Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: Covidien LPInventor: Thomas M. Johnston

Patent number: 8713073Abstract: Computer programs embodied in computer-readable media that can use canonical schemas to persist data from non-temporal tables, effective-time tables, assertion-time tables, and bitemporal tables, and that can enforce temporal integrity constraints on those tables, are provided. In one embodiment, the canonical schemas are used by database tables. In another embodiment, they are used by the physical files which persist data from those tables. Temporal metadata is used to express temporal requirements. Thus, uni-temporal, bitemporal, and temporally-enabled non-temporal tables can be generated without altering existing data models or designing temporal features into new data models. Support is also provided for managing temporal data that exists in future assertion time, and for using episodes to enforce temporal referential integrity.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2012Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Assignee: Asserted Versioning, LLCInventors: Thomas M. Johnston, Randall James Weis

Publication number: 20130085478Abstract: A catheter is provided which includes a body having a proximal end, a distal end and a sidewall defining at least one lumen. The catheter body has at least one side opening formed through the sidewall at a location spaced proximally from the distal end. The at least one side opening communicates with the at least one lumen. A recess extends along the sidewall and communicates with the at least one side opening such that the recess defines a fluid pathway into the side opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2011Publication date: April 4, 2013Applicant: TYCO HEALTHCARE GROUP LPInventors: Arnaz S. Malhi, Richard M. Braga, Thomas M. Johnston

Patent number: 8219522Abstract: Computer programs embodied in computer-readable media for managing temporal data in relational databases are provided. According to one embodiment, a computer program comprises logic for storing temporal data in tables stored in a database and using a single schema. The schema includes a first column designating an identifier of an object represented in a row of a table and columns designating an effective-time period. For a past effective-time period, the state of the object as it existed is described by atemporal data in the row. For a present effective-time period, the present state of the object is described. For a future effective-time period, the state of the object as it will exist is described by the atemporal data. Additional logic stores additional data in the tables, such as business data describing the state of the object.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2010Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Asserted Versioning, LLCInventors: Thomas M. Patent number: 5572750Abstract: A pool for supporting a table and chairs within a volume of water. The inventive device includes a bottom panel having a perimeter sidewall projecting upwardly therefrom. A central sidewall is concentrically positioned relative to the perimeter sidewall and projects from the bottom wall and about a central aperture directed therethrough. An anchor is positioned within the central wall for receiving an umbrella post to permit central positioning of a table and radially spaced positioning of chairs within the pool.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1995Date of Patent: November 12, 1996Inventor: Thomas M.
