Publication number: 20150108738Abstract: A foldable stroller has a frame reconfigurable between an unfolded and a folded configuration. The frame has left and right sides, each having a fold joint, a handle push arm slidably coupled to the fold joint, a front leg substantially parallel to the push arm with an upper end connected to the fold joint, a rear leg pivotably extending down from the fold joint, and a drive link with a rear end pivotally coupled to the rear leg and a front end pivotally coupled to a lower end of the push arm. When moved to the folded configuration, the push arm slides downward relative to the fold joint and the rear leg and the drive link rear end move toward the front leg and push arm. In the folded configuration, the rear leg is substantially parallel with and close to the front leg and push arm. A slide collar can be fixed to the front leg and define an opening. The push arm can slide within the opening. A drive mechanism can be operably coupled to the frame to assist in moving the frame to the folded configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2014Publication date: April 23, 2015Inventors: Thomas J. Patent number: 8919806Abstract: A foldable stroller has a frame assembly with a fold joint, a fold joint, a handle push arm, a front leg with an upper end connected to the fold joint, a rear leg extending down from and pivotally connected to the fold joint, and a drive link. The drive link has a rear end pivotally coupled to the rear leg below the fold joint and a front end pivotally coupled to a lower end of the push arm. The frame assembly is reconfigurable between an unfolded and a folded configuration. In the folded configuration, the fold joint moves upward along the handle push arm. The rear end of the drive link and the rear leg are moved toward and lie closely adjacent the front leg and handle push arm. The frame assembly may automatically move to the folded and/or unfolded configuration. The foldable stroller may also stand upright in the folded configuration.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2012Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Thomas J. Patent number: 8905428Abstract: A stroller fold joint has first and second joint parts. The first part has a hosel coupled to a hub body with a circumferential surface and a pivot axis. The second part has a connector coupled to two plates. The hub body is between the plates and the two joint parts pivot about the pivot axis between a folded and an unfolded orientation. A tunnel through the hub body is perpendicular to the pivot axis. A shuttle slides within the tunnel and has latch end and an actuator end. The latch end is adjacent the hub body's circumferential surface at one tunnel end and the actuator end extends into the hosel. The shuttle is not exposed and is covered when the fold joint is in the folded or unfolded orientations and when moving therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2012Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Brady Matthew Schroeder, Thomas M. Publication number: 20120242050Abstract: A stroller wheel assembly has a wheel mount with an interior cavity and defining a generally vertical housing axis. An axle is carried by the wheel mount and a wheel is carried on the axle and rotatable about a rolling axis oriented perpendicular to the housing axis. A leg of a stroller frame has an end section coupled to the wheel mount. A suspension spring has one end borne against a spring stop on the wheel mount within the interior cavity and an opposite end borne against a fixed stop. The spring resiliently supports the wheel mount for movement against a bias force and by the bias force of the spring relative to the leg along the housing axis. The wheel assembly can also be capable of swiveling about the housing axis relative to the leg.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2011Publication date: September 27, 2012Applicant: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Brady Matthew Schroeder, Thomas M. Publication number: 20120242062Abstract: A stroller fold joint has a first part with a connection hosel coupled to a cylindrical hub body having a circumferential surface and a pivot axis extending through the body. A second part has connector coupled to two plates. The hub body is sandwiched between the plates and the first and second joint parts are pivotable about the pivot axis relative to one another between a folded orientation and an unfolded orientation. A tunnel extends through the hub body perpendicular to the pivot axis. A shuttle is slidable within the tunnel and has an elongate body, a latch end, and an actuator end. The latch end is adjacent the circumferential surface of the hub body at one tunnel end and the actuator end extends into the hosel. With the fold joint in the folded or the unfolded orientation, or moving therebetween, the shuttle is not exposed and covered by portions of the fold joint.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2012Publication date: September 27, 2012Applicant: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Brady Matthew Schroeder, Thomas M. Patent number: 7695374Abstract: A bouncer seat assembly generally has a wire frame structure and a seat suspended from the wire frame structure. The wire frame structure includes a seat section and a base section resiliently and flexibly coupled to and supporting the seat section above the base section. The wire frame structure is configured so that any gap between parts of the bouncer seat assembly is either sized small enough to prohibit a head of a child from fitting between any adjacent parts or sized large enough to prevent a head of a child from being entrapped or pinched between any adjacent parts.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2006Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: William B. Bellows, Nicholas E. Papageorge, Baku Kakuda, Thomas M. Perrin

Patent number: 7325871Abstract: An infant car seat includes a base including a belt path along which a vehicle belt can be secured to the base, and a carrier to detachably couple to the base. The carrier is positionable in a first, reclined position and a second, upright position. The belt path is fixed in location on the base such that the carrier can be positioned in either the first, reclined position or the second, upright position without adjustment of the vehicle belt relative to the base. This two-position infant carrier provides improved fit to child, The infant car seat also can include grips on the carrier of the infant car seat for improved carryability, grips on the base of the infant car seat for improved gripping of the vehicle seat and easier installation, and an adjustable height mechanism in the base for improved fit to vehicle seat.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2004Date of Patent: February 5, 2008Assignee: Graco Children's Products Inc.Inventors: Shiva M. Gangadharan, Jason A. Carpenter, Charles E. Crane, Damaso A. Lamos, Thomas M. Perrin

Patent number: 6682145Abstract: An inflatable lumbar support arrangement includes a pump unit for selectively inflating a bladder whereby the bladder is located in the lumbar region of the backrest. The pump unit is connected to the bladder and includes a pump and a release valve. The pump unit further includes a single actuator handle which projects sidewardly from below the seat and is movable vertically in opposite directions. The actuator handle operatively cooperates with both the pump and the release valve which are thereby operated by movement of the actuator handle in the opposite directions. As such, the pump is operated to inflate the bladder by repetitive movement of the actuator handle in one direction, while the release valve is opened by movement of the actuator handle in the opposite direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2002Date of Patent: January 27, 2004Assignee: Haworth, Inc.Inventors: Larry A. Wilkerson, Thomas M. Perrin
