    Abstract: The assembly for attaching a side shield to an eyewear temple includes a temple having an outer side and an inner side. A locking member is connected to the inner side of the temple. A side shield, having a complementary locking member to the locking member on the inner side of the temple is removably connected thereto. The side shield is attached to the inner side of the temple to avoid obstruction or distortion of the outer ornamental side of the eyewear temple by the side shield while still providing superior eyewear protection.
