    Abstract: A system and method graphically displays similar or disparate forms of information for the purpose of sorting, searching, organizing, accessing, and using the information that contains a revolving carousel, limits the amount of information displayed by a subset setting, and having sorting commands directly accessible to the user through a remote control or other input device. The carousel design allows the user to easily see the information that is of interest and navigate to the information using commands to spin the carousel right or left, or use the sort, sub-sort, search, or text skip ahead commands. The graphical nature and intuitive operation enables the user to quickly learn, navigate, find, access, or act on the information that they are looking for.

    Abstract: A universal cost minimizing mail arbitrator (UCMA) selects an optimum zip code result from a plurality of zip code results received from a plurality of mail processing directory match modules (DMM). The UCMA primarily has a cost tuner and an arbitration controller. The cost tuner receives truthed input for truthed mail, and user-defined cost profile parameters. The cost tuner determines an average weighted cost (AWC) for each DMM based upon the truthed input, to form a cost profile. The AWC is sorted in the cost profile based upon the Level of Sort (LOS) for the zip code result. The cost tuner gathers the cost profiles for each DMM together to form a cost profile array for all the DMMs. The arbitration controller receives the zip code results from the DMMs for each LOS code, and determines the lowest cost zip code result from amongst the various LOS codes based upon the AWC in the cost profile array. The arbitration controller selects the optimum zip code result based upon the lowest cost zip code result.

The hinges have a top member securable to an upper panel of the door and a base member securable to a lower panel of the door. The base member and top member are connected by first and second links, each of which have a first end pivotally connected to the top member and a second end pivotally connected to the base member. The geometry of the links insures that a foot which depends from the upper panel is always spaced closely enough to the lower panel that a person cannot easily insert a fingertip into the joint. The foot also acts to push a fingertip away from the joint as the door is closed. The hinge may further include a cover which acts to prevent a person from being pinched by the links or hinge members.

The apparatus incorporates novel leading end gripper means and trailing end gripper means for establishing and terminating the catenary in a manner which minimizes the unusable length of ribbon, that is, the uncoated leading end and uncoated trailing end of the processed ribbon. A method of initiating, maintaining, and terminating the catenary is disclosed.
