  • Patent number: 11837766
Abstract: A system and method of continuous fabrication of multi-material graded structures using additive manufacturing is disclosed. Using multi-material feedstocks and optimized processing parameters, the gradient on composition and structure are controlled to achieve smooth transition from one functional component to another functional component. A multi-material graded structure is produced as the feedstocks are transported from the feedstock reservoir system comprised of many different materials. Interface transition from one functional layer to the next is gradient, controlled by feedstock mixture ratios based on the flow rate control for the feedstock system. Composition includes chemical composition, physical composition, and porosity. Continuous automatic additive manufacturing method makes the fabrication more efficient and avoids joining problems.

  • Publication number: 20060236608
Abstract: A system for delivering hydrogen to a vehicle is provided which includes a first hydrogen generator coupled to a first compressor. A second hydrogen generator is also provided that produces hydrogen gas at a pressure at least 2 times that produced by said first generator. Coupled to the second hydrogen generator is a second compressor that increases the pressure of the hydrogen gas produces to a desired delivery pressure. A storage vessel is coupled to both first and second compressors to store the hydrogen gas at a desired pressure level prior to dispensing.

  • Publication number: 20060020022
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for separating enantiomers of a substituted 2-trifluoromethyl-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid or ester, a substituted 2-trifluoromethyl-1,2-dihydro-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid or ester, a substituted 2-trifluoromethyl-2H-thiochromene-3-carboxylic acid or ester, a substituted 3-trifluoromethyl-3,4-dihydro-naphthalene-2-carboxylic acid or ester, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the acids or esters, using enantioselective fractional crystallization, enantioselective high performance liquid chromatography, enantioselective steady state recycling chromatography, or enantioselective multicolumn chromatography.

  • Publication number: 20060002850
Abstract: A radiolabeled lymphatic staining agent is mixed on site with a much larger amount, on a weight basis, of a non-radiolabeled lymphatic staining agent to form an injectable radiolabeled lymphatic staining agent suitable for surgical use in humans. Preferably, the radiolabel is I-125, because it has a 60-day half-life which enables it to be made off-site. The preferred radiolabeled lymphatic staining agent is iodinated methylene blue, because it can be mixed with a range of non-radioactive lymphatic staining agents, for example isosulfan blue, methylene blue, patent blue, and patent blue V, to provide the injected agent with sufficient radioactivity to enable machine detection. A method for making radioiodinated methylene blue is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20050241881
Abstract: A vent assembly or breathing tube adapted to relieve pressure in an axle assembly or other gear housing. A vent tube may be disposed within a casing and terminates at an oblique or circular open end in a skirt portion of the tube. At least one hole may extend through the side of the casing to allow pressurized gases within the housing to escape through the vent tube via the oblique opening. The casing has a hole disposed at the bottom surface to allow the return of any lubricant which might enter the casing through the side hole. The side hole is preferably located on a side opposite the lubricant flow direction. The neck portion may be integrally formed with the top portion and skirt.

  • Publication number: 20050166557
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a vent assembly or breathing tube adapted to relieve pressure in an axle assembly or other gear housing. A vent tube is disposed within a casing and terminates at a non-truncated oblique open end. At least one hole extends through the side of the casing to allow pressurized gases within the housing to escape through the vent tube via the oblique opening. The casing has a hole disposed on a substantially closed bottom surface to allow the return of any lubricant which might enter the casing through the side hole. The side hole is preferably located on a side opposite the side facing the oblique opening.
