  • Patent number: 7311245
Abstract: A system indicates fault conditions in an automated banking machine apparatus. A journal printer (12, 106) is supplied with paper from a paper supply (16, 112). A paper take-up device (18, 114) receives paper from the printer. Movement of the take-up device is sensed by a detector (70, 146, 124). The detector is connected to an electronic circuit (74, 118) including a processor (76, 120). Fault signals are generated by the electronic circuit responsive to the detector sensing conditions representative of a paper jam and a paper break.

  • Patent number: 6488056
Abstract: A method and system for the storage and dispensing of medical grade liquid oxygen are provided. Medical grade liquid oxygen is stored in a storage tank located within a medical facility which is capable of dispensing liquid oxygen to portable liquid oxygen reservoirs and to portable liquid oxygen tanks, as well as delivering oxygen gas through a gas pipeline network. The storage tank is filled through a fill station exterior to the facility. A fixed price billing method is provided for the cost of the liquid oxygen delivered for use in the system. Economical storage, delivery and billing services are thereby provided to medium sized facilities such as nursing homes or extended care facilities which utilize both liquid and gaseous oxygen but cannot afford to install the very large exterior liquid oxygen tanks used by major hospitals and research facilities. Increased safety in the storage and dispensing of the liquid oxygen is provided in accordance with the present invention.

  • Patent number: 6413266
Abstract: A tick removing device includes a body member that includes a fulcrum portion and a pair arms. Each of the arms has a main portion that is coupled to the fulcrum portion. The head portion of each of the arms is for engaging a portion of a body of the tick. A distance between the head portion of each of the arms increases when a gap between the main portions of each of the arms is decreased by pressure for the fingers of the user. The head of one of the arms abuts the head portion of the other of the arms when pressure from the fingers on the main portion of each of the arms is released such that the head portion of each of the arms is for cooperatively securing the body member to the tick.

  • Publication number: 20010049593
Abstract: A method and system for co-verifying a hardware simulation of a field-programmable-system-level integrated circuit (FPSLIC) and a software simulation of the field-programmable-system-level integrated circuit. A FPSLIC device is simulated in hardware, and a simulator-port layout of the FPSLIC device is generated. In software, the method separately simulates, with an instruction-set simulator, the FPSLIC device, and outputs register contents from the instruction-set software. The contents from the simulator-port layout are verified with the register contents. Additionally, the method may further include outputting peripheral contents from the instruction-set simulator, and verifying contents from the simulator-port layout with the peripheral contents. UART contents also may be outputted from the instruction-set simulator, and verified with contents from the simulator-port layout with the UART contents.
