  • Publication number: 20100007719
Abstract: In a method for 3D digitization of an object (1), a plurality of camera images of the object are recorded and assembled to determine the 3D coordinates of the object. To improve such method, pictures are taken from the object (1), from which 2D feature points (11, 12, 13; 21, 22, 23) of the object (1) are determined. The 3D coordinates of the 2D feature points are determined. The 2D point correspondences (32, 32, 22) between the 2D feature points of a picture and the 2D feature points of another picture are determined. Several of these 2D point correspondences are selected, and an associated 3D transformation is determined. The quality of this 3D transformation is determined with reference to the transformed 3D coordinates of the 2D feature points. Valid 3D feature points are determined therefrom. For assembling the camera images of the object (1), the 3D coordinates of the valid 3D feature points are used.

  • Publication number: 20090322439
Abstract: A frequency modulator includes a tuning circuit configured to determine a nominal gain characteristic of a digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) in a first mode, and to determine an actual gain characteristic of the DCO in a second mode using the nominal gain characteristic. The frequency modulator also comprises a modulation circuit comprising the DCO coupled to the tuning circuit, configured to modulate a frequency of a DCO output signal with a modulation signal input, and to scale the modulated DCO output signal based on the actual gain characteristic in the second mode to provide gain compensation and frequency modulation of the DCO. The tuning circuit may include a select switch to couple a minimal and maximal tuning word to the DCO in the first mode and an actual operating point word in the second mode to the DCO to determine the nominal gain characteristic.

  • Patent number: 7626661
Abstract: The invention relates to a polarization compensating element (PCE) for a liquid crystal, e.g. liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS), display system manufactured using a linearly photo-polymerizable polymer (LPP) for orienting a photo-polymerizable liquid crystal polymer (LCP) film. To decrease the reflection, polarization conversion, and interference events in an LPP/LCP assembly the ?N birefringence value of the LCP material is minimized. Dielectric coatings are added at various locations throughout the assembly for minimizing the amount of reflection, polarization conversion, and interference effects and for suppressing spatial retardance ripples.

  • Publication number: 20090172043
Abstract: A method and system for synchronizing versions of a document on a collaborative site and on a content management repository is disclosed. The method and system comprises determining that a document has been modified on the collaborative site by a listener/updater mechanism. The method and system further comprises providing a hidden save of a copy of the document to the content management repository by an authorized user of the collaborative site. In one embodiment, a system and method in accordance with the present invention uses the Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) protocol. This listener/updated mechanism permits users to retain the highly-collaborative aspect of wikis, but automatically updates and retains the document in a more formal content management repository making it available for other Content Management applications.

  • Publication number: 20090063356
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses enable determination of consensus between parties to a business transaction. A receiving party of the transaction has a delivery expectation, and a supplying party has a proposed delivery. The delivery expectation and the proposed delivery are represented in transaction data. A consensus determination framework receives the transaction data and dynamically selects one or more consensus parameters to evaluate the transaction data for consensus between the delivery expectation and the proposed delivery. The consensus parameter may be a consensus rule defining a consensus function to perform on the transaction data, and/or a consensus profile indicating acceptable ranges. The consensus framework generates a consensus report to indicate whether consensus is found, and/or what consensus exists, in accordance with the consensus parameter.

  • Patent number: 7469027
Abstract: A system is described for establishing timing synchronism between a local receiver symbol clock and a transmitter symbol clock. A prescribed number of offset values are calculated for desired symbol timing range, the offset values being grouped substantially symmetrically about a central offset value. Each of the preselected offset values are tested to see if symbol timing recovery lock can be achieved by starting at the central offset value and gradually moving away from such value. Finally, two timing detection algorithms are used and switched between the two algorithms is carried out as desired to maximize the possibility of STR lock.
