Publication number: 20240072131Abstract: Strategic placement and patterning of electrodes, vias, and metal runners can significantly reduce strain in a power semiconductor die. By modifying the path defining electrodes, vias, and metal runners, as well as patterning the material layers thereof, strain can be better managed to increase reliability of a power semiconductor die.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Daniel Jenner Lichtenwalner, Edward Robert Van Brunt, Thomas E. Harrington, III, Shadi Sabri, Brett Hull, Brice McPherson, Joe W. McPherson

Patent number: 10729126Abstract: The present disclosure is related to sample thawing. Features described herein may limit power requirements of the thawing device and may thereby increase the portability of the thawing device. The device may include a housing; a heater block housed within the housing and forming a vial receptacle; a thermally-conductive compliant material may line an inner surface of the receptacle; and a heating element may be coupled with the heater block. The thermally-conductive compliant material may be molded to a shape of a bottom portion of the vial so as to fittingly mate with the bottom portion of the vial. In some embodiments, the heater block does not have moveable components and may be a single non-segmented piece. An ejection pin may be provided configured to break contact between the vial and the thermally-conductive compliant material. Additionally, the receptacle may be localized to the vial region adjacent to the frozen sample.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2018Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: BioLIfe Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Thomas McPherson, Brian Schryver, Scott Comiso

Publication number: 20190041308Abstract: The present invention discloses sample thawing devices, systems, and methods, that are configured to take bag-format sample vessels, referred to as “cryobags”, and to thaw the contents of such cryobags. The contents of such cryobags are samples with cells, and the thawing of such samples is based on the temperature, volume, and mass of the sample in order to evenly distribute heat and avoid ice crystallization damage to the cells during thawing. Paired heater plates form an assembly configured to support, clamp, and thaw individual cryobags. The heater plate pair has an articulated member that is repositioning to provide for ease in inserting and removing samples.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2018Publication date: February 7, 2019Applicant: MedCision, Inc.Inventors: Brian Schryver, Scott Comiso, Thomas McPherson
