  • Patent number: 6227993
Abstract: A cable reversing system for an automatic window lift having a cable reversing part affixed to a rail. The cable reversing part defines a housing enclosing a cable pulley. The cable pulley has two bearing stubs which snap into corresponding clearances in the cable reversing part so that the cable pulley is supported in a geometric interlocking manner inside the cable reversing part.

  • Patent number: 6202351
Abstract: A tensioning device (14) for the cable pull of a cable-pull window opener is described, the tensioning device (14) being accommodated in a driver (16) of the window pane, the driver (16) being guided along a guide rail and being fixedly connectable to one end of the cable pull. The tensioning device (14) comprises a spring-loaded directional locking mechanism which can be connected to the other end (8) of the cable pull. The other end (8) of the cable pull is operatively connected to an expanding element (4) which is arranged between latching arms (18) of a latching element (2) guided displaceably in a holder (1) of the driver (16). When the window opener is operated, the latching arms (18) engage, under the effect of the expanding element (4), into a mating toothing arrangement (11) in the holder (1) for the purpose of fixing the other end (8) of the cable pull.

  • Patent number: 5855093
Abstract: A cable-driven window lift for vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, and comprises a drive unit for the cable core (29) of the cable assembly (15), said cable core (29) being guided by deflecting means (16) over at least one substantially vertical path within which it is connected to an lifter (14) holding the window pane (9) preferably at its lower edge zone, the window pane (9) being guided by its side edges (10, 11) in guide rails (12, 13) respectively on the side of the vehicle and of the door. To achieve simple and accurate guidance of the pane at simplified design, the invention provides that the minimum of one lifter (14) shall move up-and-down with the cable core (29) in the absence of separate guides and that the deflection means (16) for the cable core (29) be mounted on the guide rails (12, 13) of the window pane (9).

  • Patent number: 5746094
Abstract: A device for the automatic length-correction of flexible cable drives, in particular a cable adjusting device (10) with a tube fitting (16), said tube fitting (16) comprising a seat (18) for a cable-drive tube and further a duct (46) for the cable proper of the cable drive. The outside wall in the region of the extension (20) is fitted with a radial toothing (22). An essentially bush-shaped casing (12) comprises a longitudinal borehole (14) inside which said extension (20) is displaceably guided in the longitudinal direction. At a rear segment (13) the casing (12) comprises a receiving recess (15) adjoining the front segment (11) with the longitudinal borehole (14) and receiving in displaceable manner within two limit positions a detent member (23) cooperating with the radial toothing (22) and able to move from a locked position into an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 5740630
Abstract: A cable window-lift in particular for motor vehicles and comprising a drive (1) for the alternating winding and unwinding of the cable (2) running in at least one loop and which cable, in relation to pane movement, is divided into a cable lifting portion (15) and a cable descending portion (16) and further is linked to a pane lifter (3) displaceable up and down along a guide (5), one spring element (9, 10) being provided in the cable lifting portion (15) and cable descending portion (16) resp. to compensate cable slack. To allow raising and lowering the pane in substantially play-free manner and to avert clattering and/or wind noise, the spring (9) in the cable lifting portion (15), which is compressed when in the pane closed position, evinces a spring force greater than the resultant of the pane weight and the frictional forces arising during pane motion and also larger than the spring force of the spring (10) in the cable descending portion (16).

  • Patent number: 5544543
Abstract: A length compensation device for Bowden controls, mechanical flexible remote controls or the like with two components adjustable with respect to each other and interlockable in different positions. The mutually interlocked components are retained in the interlocked position by a movable retaining element. The device may be designed so that it automatically carries out a length compensation once the retaining element has been manually moved and unlocked, or the length compensation is automatically carried out.

  • Patent number: 5502926
Abstract: An improved liftplate attachment arrangement used to support an automotive door window. The liftplate is formed with a recessed attachment area adjacent a bracket which supports a lower edge of the window. The window, having a circular hole, is fixedly attached at the recessed area by means of a retainer assembly comprising a plastic disc-cap encasing a T-nut. The T-nut has a central internally threaded tubular portion concentrically surrounded by a plurality of disc-cap spring fingers, the inboard ends of which are formed with radially extending crossheads the outer ends of which are adapted for snap-in reception in the window hole. A screw shank, after being passed though a slot in the liftplate recess, is threaded in the T-nut tubular portion, while the shank blocks juxtaposed inner ends of the crosshead from being flexed inward for release of the fingers thereby locking the retainer assembly against removal.

  • Patent number: 5172463
Abstract: A motor drive unit for a cable window regulator of reduced depth dimension. The drive unit includes two subassemblies which include elements which are combined to form integral assembly pieces. In this manner, the housing of the subassembly can be reduced in dimension and provide a motor drive unit of overall reduced dimension.

  • Patent number: 5109725
Abstract: A motor drive unit for a window regulator. The drive unit is divided into two subassemblies. The first subassembly includes a driven worm gear and a bearing pin. The second subassembly includes a worm wheel having an extended sheath on which a cable driving drum is mounted. When the two subassemblies are fitted together, the worm wheel and worm gear mesh and the bearing pin extends through and supports the worm wheel, sheath and cable drum.

  • Patent number: 4984386
Abstract: The invention concerns a tensioning device for the cable of a cable window lifter which is mounted in a drive bracket pulled up and down along a guide rail by means of a cable wound around an actuation drum. One cable end is solidly joined to the drive bracket whereas the other cable end is connected by a directional lock to the drive bracket. This directional lock compensates any cable elongation taking place within the cable actuation system by means of spring action. The tensioning device of the invention is characterized by providing further compensating means. This further compensation is needed in the event of excessive stresses exerted on the cable actuation system in the closed window position which results in a spurious cable elongation caused thereby. It also eliminates this compensation when this excess stress is no longer present.
