  • Publication number: 20190112053
Abstract: A fan wheel rotatably arranged around an axis in a fan duct. The fan wheel includes a first side, a second side including an inner periphery forming a fan wheel inlet, and an outer periphery and at least four curved wings. The at least four wings extend between the inner and outer periphery of the second side and between the first side and the second side, such that channels are formed between the wings and the first and second side. The inner periphery of the second side is arranged at a first distance from the second side and the outer periphery of the second side is arranged at a second distance from the first side, such that the cross-sectional area of the channels at the inlet and the cross-sectional area of the channels at the outlet are substantially equal. Also, a heater including such a fan assembly.

  • Publication number: 20120006739
Abstract: A device for the filtration of liquids includes membrane curtains (2), each curtain being formed of a singular row of capillary membranes (5). The device has at least one bottom header (3) provided at a lower end of the membrane curtains (lower end of the capillary membranes) and linked to the capillary membranes of at least one membrane curtain and an individual top header (4) for each membrane curtain. The top header is provided at an upper end of the membrane curtain and is linked to the capillary membranes thereof. Top headers of adjacent membrane curtains (41, 42) are arranged at different heights and the capillary membranes (5) of the adjacent membrane curtains (2) have different lengths.

  • Patent number: 6368511
Abstract: A process is described for dewatering sewage sludge consisting of the combination of an acidic oxidative preconditioning with an inorganic post-conditioning, in which case the preconditioning comprises an acidification of the sewage sludge and a catalytic partial oxidation by addition of a substoichiometric amount of hydrogen peroxide and iron ions at a pH≦5 and then an inorganic post-conditioning is carried out in which the acidified and partially oxidized sewage sludge is admixed with alkaline earth, and in which case, in the inorganic post-conditioning, sufficient calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) is supplied so that the pH of the limed sewage sludge is in the range from at least 9 to at most 11, in order thereafter to dewater the conditioned sewage sludge mechanically.

  • Patent number: 5820761
Abstract: Organic pollutants in wastewaters are wet-oxidized by addition of pure oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas at temperatures of 80.degree. to 330.degree. C., under pressures of 1 bar to 200 bar and at a pH value below 7. For the wet oxidation process, iron ions and digested sludge or surplus sludge from a biological sewage treatment plant are added to the wastewater.

  • Patent number: 5720578
Abstract: In the process for treating contaminated mud or suspended earth, the mud or the suspended earth in concentrations of 3% to 25% dry matter is wet-oxidized by addition of pure oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas at a temperature of 120.degree. C. to 220.degree. C., under a pressure of 3 bar to 50 bar and at pH values <7. To accelerate the oxidation reaction, iron ions alone or in combination with quinones or quinone-forming substances are added to the mud or to the suspended earth.

  • Patent number: 5232676
Abstract: In a process for the biological elimination of halogen- and sulfur-containing gaseous pollutants from a waste air stream, the waste air stream is passed through an intermittently moistened trickling filter tower. In a preferred variant of the process, individual sections of the surface of the trickling filter are subjected to intermittent phase-displaced moistening. Cyclic moistening of the trickling filter sections can be achieved in this way. The volume-time yield in the biological purification of gas streams can be considerably improved by this process.

  • Patent number: 4869824
Abstract: The outgoing gas or waste water is conveyed through a gas-liquid contact apparatus in which biological purification takes place. A bubble plate-type column (2) is used as gas-liquid contact apparatus. The biomass is distributed over the plates (3) in the form of an aqueous suspension with a layer height corresponding to a liquid content per plate greater than 0.07 m.sup.3 /m.sup.2, preferably greater than 0.15 m.sup.3 /m.sup.2 of column cross-section. During the biological purification of gas, the gas to be purified is supplied at the lower end of the bubble plate-type column (2). It then flows through the plates (3) and issues again as purified gas at the top of the plate column (2). When the plate column is used for purifying waste water, the waste water to be purified is conveyed from top to bottom through the plate column (2) and is traversed by air, oxygen or oxygen-containing gas.

  • Patent number: 4411942
Abstract: Packing consisting of a plurality of twisted strips stacked parallel to each other in an axially symmetrical arrangement. Twisting produces spirals rotating in the same sense. In addition, the strips are pleated to produce waves perpendicular to the axis of the spiral. When the packing is assembled from the spirals, the individual spirals are staggered in relation to each other to form continuous channels extending in straight lines in four axially symmetric directions. The axially symmetric directions are defined in that their projections in the horizontal plane form an angle of 90.degree. with each other and an angle .alpha. formed between the said axially symmetric directions and the axis of symmetry of the packing depends solely on the ratio of the widths of the spirals to their pitch.
