When executed by the processor circuit, the machine-readable instructions cause the processor circuit to: provide a lottery game ticket that includes data corresponding to a primary game, receive a registration of the lottery game ticket corresponding to a chance game that includes an outcome that is based on an external event, determine, based on an outcome of the external event, a chance game characteristic to be applied to an entry for the chance game that corresponds to the lottery game ticket, and use the chance game characteristic to determine whether to provide a chance game award to a user.

The system may include a plurality of terminals at the multiple locations, the terminals receiving wagers from the plurality of players, the plurality of terminals issuing tickets to the plurality of players. Each ticket may include a respective player hand chosen from the virtual card deck and an identification code uniquely identifying the ticket. The system may include a plurality of displays at the multiple locations, the displays displaying a shared community hand chosen from the virtual card deck. The system may include a server in communication with the plurality of terminals and the plurality of displays. The server may select a set of removed cards from the virtual card deck prior to issuing tickets for the game.

The container encloses the article. The conductive material surrounds the RFID tag and substantially prevents wireless communication between the RFID tag and the reader unless the container is opened. Detection of the RFID tag may indicate that the container has been opened or the article has been accessed. A host computer may be notified of the detection and may receive from the RFID tag information associated with the article for inventory and accounting purposes.

The system may include a host and a gaming terminal in communication with the host. The system may also include a game piece provided to a player, the game piece including game play data. A virtual reward redemption code may be included on the game piece. A virtual reward may be awarded to a player after submission of the virtual reward redemption code if game play data indicates the game piece is a winner in accordance to the set of pre-determined game rules.
