  • Publication number: 20200302322
Abstract: There is described a machine learning system comprising a first subsystem and a second subsystem remote from the first subsystem. The first subsystem comprises an environment having multiple possible states and a decision making subsystem comprising one or more agents. Each agent is arranged to receive state information indicative of a current state of the environment and to generate an action signal dependent on the received state information and a policy associated with that agent, the action signal being operable to cause a change in a state of the environment. Each agent is further arranged to generate experience data dependent on the received state information and information conveyed by the action signal. The first subsystem includes a first network interface configured to send said experience data to the second subsystem and to receive policy data from the second subsystem.

  • Publication number: 20090281855
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically marketing cattle is provided comprising a buyer interface, a producer interface, a network, and a cattle information server. The cattle information server receives information from the buyer interface defining a plurality of demand profiles at least one which contains information specifying a first pre-conditioning program. The cattle information server also receives information from the producer interface defining a supply profile that specifies a second pre-conditioning program and stores the demand profiles and supply profile in a database. The cattle information server searches the database to determine if one or more of the demand profiles match the supply profile based at least in part on a comparison of the first and second pre-conditioning programs and identifies at least one demand profile in response to a match between the supply profile and the demand profile.

  • Patent number: 6912918
Abstract: The mass flow rate sensor includes a waveguide disposed in a flow passage having a bluff body facing in an upstream direction. Waves are pulsed along the waveguide for interaction with the fluid. A receiver is coupled to the waveguide to detect a propagated wave and provides a first output signal proportional to the transit time of the propagated wave for determining fluid density. The receiver also provides a second output signal proportional to the shedding frequency of vortices from the waveguide to determine velocity. An electronics module calculates mass flow rate from the velocity times density times area of the flow passage and a constant. In other forms, the velocity is ascertained by transmitting an ultrasonic beam through the shedding vortices to determine vortex frequency which is proportional to velocity.
