  • Publication number: 20130041788
Abstract: An omnibus fund accounting system is described that comprises a system of servers and databases connected to a network that can host a set of application instructions and a fund investment database to manage multiple fund investments. An institutional investor places an investment with an investment fund. The institutional investment comprises a plurality of individual investors who may invest at varied times and in varied amounts. The discrepancies in investment initiation dates by individual investors causes expenses such as performance based management fees to be assessed differently against each individual investor. The omnibus fund accounting system tracks the increases or decreases in overall fund performance with respect to the institutional investment or, alternatively, with respect to the fund as a whole. This may be reflected by the overall net asset value of the institutional investment or the fund as a whole as determined by the omnibus fund accounting system.

  • Patent number: 7970585
Abstract: A method and system for remotely monitoring and controlling one or more cell-sites are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes (a) receiving data indicative of a status of at least one battery of at least one cell-site at a remote processing device, where the status relates to at least one of a voltage status, a conductance status, and a temperature status. Additionally, the method includes (b) processing the data at the processing device, and (c) determining at least one further action that should be taken by the at least one cell-site in response to the data. Further, the method includes (d) sending from the processing device at least one control signal to the at least one cell-site configured to cause the at least one cell-site to take the at least one further action. Also, in other embodiments, the method involves remote monitoring and controlling of devices other than batteries.
