    Abstract: A capability is provided for supporting a service location capability in a peer-to-peer network (P2P), such as a Chord network or other P2P network. In one embodiment, a method for locating a service within a P2P network is provided. The P2P network includes a plurality of nodes, including a target node which performs the method for locating the service within the P2P network. The target node includes a search table including a plurality of entries identifying a respective plurality of nodes of the P2P network. The method includes detecting a request to search for the service within the P2P network and initiating, toward at least one of the nodes of the search table, a service search request. The service search request is a request to identify at least one node of the P2P network that supports the service. The service search request includes information indicative of the service and a search range for use by the node receiving the service search request.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a first node is adapted for communication with a plurality of additional nodes of a communication network, such as a Delaunay Triangulation (DT) network. The first node is configured to detect a failure in delivery of a broadcast packet to at least a given one of the additional nodes. Responsive to the detected failure in delivery of the broadcast packet to the given additional node, the first node encapsulates the broadcast packet in a unicast packet for delivery to a downstream node of the given additional node. The first node may be configured to detect the failure in delivery of the broadcast packet to the given additional node using a hop level acknowledgment process. Other embodiments are configured to facilitate implementation of progressive search by communicating identifiers from boundary nodes of the network that are reached in a given stage of the progressive search.

    Abstract: For voice traffic over-the-air in LTE, persistent schedule (PS) or semi-persistent (SPS) scheduling would be the preferred method as they minimize signaling messages. In PS or SPS, resources are pre-allocated to the UE 402 at regular intervals (e.g., every 20 milliseconds). At each time slot, the UE will generally transmit an IMBE frames which are encoded in ISSI packet. In ISSI, other data streams are multiplexed with the IMBE frame and thus the packet size varies depending on its position within a super-frame. For PS or SPS, eNodeB must allocated sufficient resources to support the largest packet that. Therefore, there is spare capacity when the packet is not of the largest size. The exemplary embodiments specify ways to use spare capacity to transfer data.

A schedule for transmissions to take place is determined based on the status information for the OptSws. In an embodiment, a schedule is determined for a wavelength available to transmit a transmission by removing unsupportable transmissions from a candidate transmission list, determining a first transmission that is the one of the transmissions of the candidate transmission list which most preferably satisfies a given parameter, updating a usage list to reflect determination of the first transmission; and replacing the candidate transmission list with the residue set of the first transmission. The usage list reflects transmissions determined by the scheduler.
