Patent number: 9242588Abstract: A tow bar for selectively securing a pivotable container assembly of a dump cart includes a tow bar rotatably connected to a frame of the container assembly. A latch is adjacent to a receiving surface of the tow bar, and includes a slidable member, a biasing element and a lever. The slidable member is configured to selectively engage an arm which extends from the container assembly and for latching the container assembly in a loading condition. The biasing element is configured to urge the slidable member into engagement with the arm. The lever is coupled to the tow bar, slidably coupled to the slidable member and includes an actuation plate spaced apart from the receiving surface. When actuated, the lever moves the actuation plate toward the receiving surface and urges the slidable member away from the arm, enabling release of the engaged arm from the tow bar.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2015Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: OHIO STEEL INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventors: Thomas P. Patent number: 9056573Abstract: A towable cart. At least one axle is coupled to a frame. A bottom of a container is also attached to the frame. Each of a pair of wheels are rotatably attached to the axle. A tow bar has first and second ends, the first end of the tow bar being pivotably coupled to one of the frame and the axle. An arm has first and second opposing ends, the first end of the arm being attached to the container and the second end of the arm being selectably secured to the tow bar. The container is fixed in a loading condition when the arm is secured to the tow bar, the container and the frame further being pivotable to an unloading condition when the arm is not secured to the tow bar.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2013Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: OHIO STEEL INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventors: Thomas P. Patent number: 9004607Abstract: A towable cart including an axle, at least one bearing rotatably coupled to the axle, a frame configured for selectable attachment to the bearing, and a container attached to the frame. A tow bar has a first and a second end, and is coupled to the axle at the first end of the tow bar. A first end of a tip structure is pivotally coupled to the container and a second end of the tip structure is fixedly attached to the bearing. An arm is attached to the container and is selectably coupled to the tow bar. The container is in a loading condition when the arm is coupled to the tow bar and is in an unloading condition when the arm is not coupled to the tow bar. The container is movable between the loading condition and the unloading condition over a pivoting range greater than ninety degrees.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2013Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: Ohio Steel Industries, Inc.Inventors: Thomas P. Publication number: 20090121203Abstract: A lifting device for a lawn tractor. An angle member has first and second generally planar portions, the second planar portion being oriented generally perpendicularly and joined to the first planar portion. A pair of wheels are rotatably attached to opposing ends of the angle member. A handle extends from the first planar portion of the angle member. A foot brace is attached to the handle and is oriented generally perpendicularly thereto; A pair of spaced-apart lift members extend from the second planar portion of the angle member. An elongated safety brace is configured to detachably couple to the foot brace. The safety brace is positionable to extend beneath the angle member while coupled to the foot brace and while the lifting device is in a service position, thereby resisting movement of the lift from the service position.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2008Publication date: May 14, 2009Applicant: OHIO STEEL INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventors: Thomas P.
