  • Publication number: 20070035529
Abstract: A method of controlling a user interface of a portable communication apparatus (100) is disclosed. The user interface includes a display (240, 336) with a limited presentation area (352) and a manual input device (250, 338) with a rotary element (252). Graphical data to be presented is received and represents a required presentation area (500) larger than said limited presentation area. A first sub area (510) of said required presentation area is presented on said display. A first user input is accepted through said manual input device as a rotator rotary movement of said rotary element, indicating a desired navigation direction within said required presentation area. A second user input is accepted through said manual input device as a rotary movement of said rotary element, indicating a desired navigation distance within said required presentation area in said desired navigation direction.

  • Publication number: 20060247581
Abstract: Disclosed is a stop for preventing a threaded rod from screwing thru a nut. The stop is formed by manufacturing a threaded rod having an unthreaded cylindrical portion and one or more grooves cut or manufactured longitudinally in the rod across both the threaded section and the unthreaded portion. A nut having an interior thread complementary to that of the rod has a hole bored thru its wall over a peak in the interior thread. The hole creates a stop surface on the interior thread that abuts a stop surface created by the groove in the unthreaded portion of the rod.

  • Publication number: 20060217144
Abstract: A mobile telephone has a display (240) and a rotator input device (250) comprising a rotatable element and capable of generating commands for browsing and selecting objects on the display. It also has a wireless telecommunication interface to a mobile telecommunications network. A processing device is coupled to the display, the rotator input device and the wireless telecommunication interface. A text-handling software application is executable by the processing device. The processing device is configured, in a first operating mode, to provide first user input by way of the rotator input device (250), said first user input including a number sequence representative of a desired telephone number which is to be reached over the mobile telecommunications network, and to use said first user input when establishing a telephone call connection through the wireless telecommunication interface.

  • Patent number: 7008399
Abstract: A device for injecting preparations is controlled by a sealed circuit block (10) containing integrated sensors (17, 21, 22, 23 24) which monitors selected parameters. Two pairs of integrated Hall elements (21, 23 and 22, 24) monitors movements relative to a sine formed magnetic field presented along the perimeter of a multipoled magnetized ring (7). The Hall elements in each pair are displaced 180° magnetically relative to each other and the two pairs of Hall elements are displaced 90° magnetically from each other. Each pair is coupled to a differential amplifier (25, 26) to provide a cosine and a sine signal, respectively. The sine signal is divided by the cosine signal to create a tangent signal as an entrance to a table showing the angle of the movement.

  • Patent number: 5703777
Abstract: A parametric emissions monitoring system for monitoring stationary engine/compressor units coupled to a pipeline provides, in a reciprocating embodiment, reliable and accurate determinations of emission levels for NO.sub.x, CO, and total hydrocarbons (THC) from an emissions matrix primarily as a function of engine speed and engine torque. Validation of the determined emissions level is provided by comparing the values of a set of actual engine operating parameters with a respective value in a set of calculated engine operating parameters to determine whether the deviation of the actual operating parameter from the expected operating parameter is within a defined range, and thus whether the engine is operating within a defined control envelope. Each set of engine operating parameters includes spark ignition timing, fuel rate, and air manifold pressure.

  • Patent number: 4779401
Abstract: A manufacturing and packaging arrangement for cards, especially playing cards, includes a sheet cutting and card stacking station, two corner punching stations, and a packaging stations which are connected with one another by a conveyor arrangement that is driven by a motor. In the cutting and stacking station, printed sheets are cut up into individual cards and those cards which belong to respective sets are assembled into respective card stacks which are then discharged from the cutting and stacking station by a discharge arrangement and transferred by a transfer conveyor to an intermittently driven main conveyor. At the main conveyor, the individual card stacks are engaged by entraining fingers which extend into a transporting channel, and are intermittently transported longitudinally of the channel to the corner punching stations.
