  • Publication number: 20070185838
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for efficient calculation of sets of distinct results in an information retrieval service. A query is received having at least one requested attribute and one or more conditions. For each row identifier in a database table that matches the one or more conditions, a tuple of value identifiers having an entry for each requested attribute is calculated. A unique number is generated and assigned to the tuple for each distinct combination of the value identifiers. Duplicate entries in the tuple listing are identified and removed, so that a result set provides only distinct results.

  • Patent number: 7246117
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer systems and program products, for executing a query, for example, a query for a document similar to another document. In one general aspect, the techniques feature a method of executing a query for at least one document similar to a specified document. That method includes receiving the query; forming a reduced query document based on ranks of terms in the specified document; generating a modified query based on the query and the reduced query document; executing the modified query on a data repository to generate a set of results; and, providing a result to a user interface.

  • Publication number: 20060199293
Abstract: A method for fabricating a light-emitting device is disclosed. A die that includes a semiconductor light emitting device is mounted on a carrier, the die having a face through which light is emitted. A mixture of photocurable epoxy and phosphor particles is dispensed on the face in a pattern that covers the face. The dispensed mixture is then irradiated with light to cure the epoxy in a time period that is less than the time period in which the phosphor particles settle. In one embodiment, the photocurable epoxy includes a UV curable epoxy. In one embodiment, the die includes sides through which some of the light is emitted and the mixture is allowed to run down the sides prior to being irradiated.

  • Publication number: 20060041604
Abstract: A document classification module may include a classification module that enables a user to classify documents using a combination of example-based classification (EBC) and query-based classification (QBC) methods. The user may also enter keywords with positive, negative, or null weights to fine tune the results of the classification process.

  • Publication number: 20050056854
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for fabricating an integrated emitter device occurs on a flat substrate such as printed circuit board (PCB). A cup of suitable material such as epoxy is transfer molded on top of the substrate. An emitter is attached to the substrate within the epoxy cup. Wire bonding may occur to provide a path to the emitter. An epoxy encapsulation layer is provided to encapsulate the emitter. The encapsulation layer may be shaped to provide a lens for the emitter.
